BTDT Double Stroller?

Hi there, I am going to be investing in a double stroller. I have a 3 month old and a 20 month old. I am currently using a tandem that someone let me borrow, which is doing the job but is so heavy and I will be returning it soon.
My question is would you recommend a side by side (I have a few friends who swear by them) or the tandem (if I could get one more light weight). Or even a double jogger??
I'de like to hear your pros and cons of each if you have opinions.
I will be using the stroller mainly to go for long walks and the mall.
Thanks for any advice.

I'm interested in what others have to say too, I have a 2yr old and soon another in May, and was wondering which one to get also.

I have to different double strollers. I mainly use one made by Combi it is not to heavy and maneuvers well. I also have one from Wal Mart that I can't remember the brand of that is in storage. It was $80 or $90 and does really well also. They are both Tandem type and the Wal Mart bought unit is very light. HTH

I, personally, would not recommend a side-by-side. They are way too wide to take anywhere where there are other people walking around or narrow isles. I say this from experience of being a person walking around. I never understood those types of strollers. We have a tandem and it's perfect. Easy to maneuver and fits in the back of our vehicle easy enough. It fits through crowds without anyone having to move out of the way, probably because it's the width of a person instead of two people.....

Now our kids are 1 and 2 and the 2-y.o. pretty much doesn't WANT to be in a stroller. He wants to walk everywhere. So we've reverted to using a light weight single stroller. We did use the double for about a year, so it was probably worth it. You may want to consider how independent your 20 month old is and if you will really get a lot of use out of a double stroller.
