how much rice cereal I should be feeding Jett in a day? I gave him some for the first time on the weekend (he's 6months now) and he LOVED it. Belle hated it, and he wont stop eating it lol. I gave him a bowl with 2 tbs of the cereal, then added water. Do I do this once or twice or 3 times a day? Also, when the bowl is empty, and he still wants more, do I give him more?

I cant remember what we did with Belle, and since she never ate it, I really cant remember.

Sounds like your little guy is ready to start his foods. I would just start out slow like you are and then gradually keep increasing it and then slowly start adding a veggie and fruit one at a time to make sure he doesn't have any reactions. Slowly increase the amount that you give him per feeding and then eventually he will be up to 3 times a day. I wouldn't go overboard at first since their little digestive systems can be fragile and they can get constipated. Some children have no problems. Happy Eating!! Trish :)

At that age, my dr. said to give Vin 2 T of cereal twice a day, try out all the cereals, then start by adding a fruit and veggie, one at a time for a few days. I always gave Vinnie more than 2 Tablespoons because he always wanted more. My kids like to eat though and they are huge, lol. I would say if he wants more give it to him.

It's a good question! Nate is a year now, but he gets 1 cup of cereal (mixed with soy milk now, but formerly mixed with formula (or breastmilk if you normally breastfeed) for added nutrition) and fruit
