I have been without a car for about 3 weeks. My husband's truck died, so he had to take my car, a corolla, to and from work leaving me stranded at home. It has been really tough not being able to hop in the car and get something I need. We are actually hoping to get a minivan to cart all of our stuff since the corolla is becoming way too small for us and our 2 kids under 2 years old. We have been looking at the Honda Odessey. But, for the time being my husband is getting my StepFather's 1992 Jeep Cherokee (boxy version). I am so relieved to have wheels again. I won't take having a car for granted again. You don't realize the freedom and convenience of having a second car until you don't have one for awhile.

BTDT. (bit of a rant coming up)

Before dh bought a new car, the one he had was OLD. 150,000+ miles. A/C hadn't worked in 2 years. It then started breaking down, A LOT. He needed the car for work. Thankfully I was taking classes online, so we planned the car being in the shop on days that I didn't have to be anywhere. Both kids are in school, so I don't have to get them there. But afterschool sometimes there's activities that they have to be at.

We got a new one. But it had to go into the dealers today. The dealership made it sound like it was going to take HOURS to get fixed, wouldn't get done until this afternoon. So I dropped it off at 8:15. Then the dealership drove me home. It was after 10 when I got back. At 11:15 the dealership calls- the car's ready. UGH. I could have waited 3 hours there. I had schoolwork to do, and I had a book.

So now I'm hoping that dh gets home soon so we can go over there and pick it up. I need a car for tomorrow. He has to work, dd has praise team practice at 10am. We then have to be over at the high school at 3:45 pm b/c dd has dance recital, and I don't know if he's going to get back in time for us to get there, or if he's going to meet us.

And for a while, we did have the other car. Dh's brother needed another car, and it was just sitting in the driveway, so we let him have it.
