Christmas Craft Idea

I am doing a craft for my homeschool group and wanted to share.
It is so simple...make a christmas welcome mat! Using clean carpet squares from a carpet store(usually 50 cents) You can paint anything on it using fabric paint. Trace around christmas tree or any cut out shape, or put your childs hand or feet prints. I had my pre-k class make this a long time ago and they turned out so cute. The prettiest ones where done on blue carpet squares using white paint. It made it look frosty.
These would make great inexpensive gifts for family and friends.

THats a neat idea!! I'm just coming out of lurking--my first time here(i think)LOL....I hope you don't mind for me offering another idea too.
Another great idea(we did this for grandma and our family--more of a family craft though) THere are five in our family-DH and I and our 3 kids. we bought a canvas board and some forest green acrylic paints. WE had our youngest put green handprints 3/4 the way up facing out. Then by age went down including dh and I.. It made a Family Christmas tree all made out of handprints. then we used our finger tips with different colored acrylic paints to make the ornaments then painted a star on top.
Of course-any size family can make it... But its something we get out every year and hang on the wall.
