DH went to the US for Black Friday a few years ago and hasn't been back since -- I can't be bothered, as what sales I might get are NOT worth the huge amounts of stress it would cause me.

I ordered my photo Christmas cards yesterday! I am done with my 3 children except need one more thing for my 8yo dd. I also finished my parents, my brother, my sister in law, my expected niece. That leaves my 7yo nephew, brother in law, mother and father in law, and my husband. I certianly want to be done by Dec 1st...usually I wait until Dec 23rd lol but this year is the earliest I have ever started.

I have never shopped on Black Friday. I looked a bit on Cyber Monday, but I was pretty much done. My sister got some great deals on Cyber Monday, though. I'm going to try again this year.

I'll throw my 2 cents in on the 3DS...not worth the hype. Although, a lot more titles are coming out soon, but Ian just turns the 3D off (it's adjustable) more often than not. The screen is also considerably smaller than the DSXL.

He hasn't specifically asked for anything yet. Neither has Lucy. I guess that's a good thing? :/

Nice to know about the 3DS, I think he basically wants it because of the new games coming out for it. They are big Mario fans and the new Mario game and the Mario Kart are sure to be a big hit, if the older system could play them I wouldn't even consider the 3DS.

I did black friday way back before we had kids and that was enough, I don't like crowds. I have hit Meijer but they are open 24 hours so I just go in around 3am and get the stuff and wander until the sale prices start at 5am. I think they do lines inside the store for the bigger sale items but I've never done that.

Oh, I know. That's how they get you! They only make the new games for the 3DS. And I know they only release one Mario Kart game per platform. I wish they would have made the DSXL into a 3DS. It just would have made way more sense.

All this talk about DS this and DS that has my head spinning! I'm glad my LO is too young to want one of these because it's all foreign to me! The most experience I have with such things was playing the old duck hunt game at my friend's house when I was like 8. That's the extent of my video game knowledge!

LOL I had an Atari... I was in college before I knew about video games. My kids are obsessed with them, I do limit it but seriously they would be on it the whole day if I let them.

Atari was a lot of fun! Space Invaders was my favorite. Oh, and Slot Car Racers!

My two aren't into video games much either. Ian only wanted a DS so he could play Lego Star Wars. He was obsessed with it the first week, but now he doesn't really use it except in the car or when we're going somewhere where he has to wait. I used it last night to watch Netflix before falling asleep.

Lucy told me yesterday that she knows what she wants for Christmas. Some kind of crab toys? I have no idea what she's talking about, but she said she saw it on TV (shocker!). She doesn't watch a lot of TV, so I told her that if she sees it again to pause it (Tivo) and tell me. Anyone have any idea what she might be talking about?

Yes! they are Xia-Xia... They have a crab like body and you can get different shells. I feel like I shouldn't know that. I did have to look up what they are called ;)

That is cool your kids aren't into video games, I wish mine weren't but with school and activites they don't play much during the school year. DH used to be big into video games but we just don't have the time anymore. I
