Cleaning house!

Ok, please tell me Im not the only one with this problem!
We used to have the greatest housekeeper that we hired after my daugter was born, she stayed with us for 6 months and then quit due to some family medical problems.

Its been 6 months since we've been w/o a maid and my house is a mess! If it is clean it is clean temporarily and I cant stand being home in the mess anymore! I can only get soo much cleaning done with my 16 month old.

Dh has to be asked again and again to help so I end up just doing it myself. I also have two part time jobs in the evening.

Thinking about getting a maid to come maybe one a week.

Advice, how do u all do it???

I agree with Dawn. I hate having a messy house. Normally I just try to keep up with everything. My DH can be very messy and my son, well he's only 15 months old, what can I say? I usually have to tidy up the living room in the morning first thing because DH leaves napkins or dishes on the tables. (Doesn't he know by now where I keep the trash and the sink?LOL) I don't have a set schedule but i try my hardest to clean as I go. I'm in the process, though it is hard when I'm watching the twins, to organize our home and de-clutter. I got the downstairs done for the most part and put a lot of things into boxes or threw things out and so I really just have the bedrooms and our atrocious "junk room" to clean out.

I, too, find that there are certain things that, if kept tidy, can make the whole house seem so much cleaner. For me it is the kitchen, the laundry and the floors. We have two dogs (a Great Pyrenees (big, long-haired and white) and a Pomeranian) and with it being so cold outside we keep hay in and around the dog house to help keep them warm. They tend to track the hay in and all over the house so I have to vacuum at least once a day if not more. If I can keep up with the kitchen I don't feel so disgusted when I try to cook and if I keep the laundry in the baskets or in the washer, it doesn't pile up in the front room.

I'll have to check out that website someone posted. A more clearly defined schedule might work well with me. I have schedules for everything else! LOL

Well it is just me and my daughter here during the day and she is 4 1/2 and loves to help with the cleaning. I too love flylady. It has helped me so much. Also getting rid of all the clutter and orgnanizing things helps me to keep on top of it all. Being a stay at home Mom is my only job so that helps not having to do anything for anyone else. I don't know how the Moms di it that work outside the home. I would surely get nothing done. I suggest either hiring someone or checking out the Flylady board. Trish :)
