Morning Mama's.
I am hungry and out of luck since today is my one hour glucose test. My appointment is not till 9:30 which means I don't eat until 10:30..boo hoo. Why is it that I am usually never hungry in the mornings but this morning I am?
What is everyone's goals for today...list some then check back when you finish. I could use the motivation! lol

Forgot to say I won't be here for chat..sigh
You ladies have fun and don't be stingy and post what you all talked about! lol
That figures, Traci! Good luck on your glucose test. When I was pg w/Katie, the nurse who drew my blood at the end of the test was completely CLUELESS! She could not find a vein and made it her mission to do so. She jammed that needle in my arm and wiggled it around, jiggled it around, etc. until she had to go find the dr.! He was mad that she didn't go get him sooner. By the time I left the office I had a bruise forming on the indside of my elbow as large as a baseball!! By the time I got home, I was practially in tears it hurt so bad. The next day, dh called me at work, just fuming. The dr. office called saying I had to re-do my test, because the nurse mixed it up with someone else's! He was ready to go rip faces! The only consolation in it was, the next time I went to the office, there was a new nurse, LOL!
Anyhow, my goals for today:
Hit the grocery store (even tho it is snowing like mad - I have no choice, I'm busy tomorrow all day, and I refuse to shop on a Saturday!)
Run the vacuum, run and unload the dishwasher.
Go read to Molly's class at lunch/do recess duty
Finish my plan for Brownies tonight
So, with that said, I'm off!!
Wendy
good morning sunshines!!!
I just woke up this morning.
Hi ladies,
Traci - keeping you in my thoughts! I HATED that stupid test and all three times I had to drink a nasty suger loaded drink - no yummy coke here!
Here's my To-Do list for today:
Organize my master bedroom closets from the move
Finish sorting thru the BAGS of baby clothes I found hiding in Wyatt's room when we organized his room yesterday.
Organize my front hall closet of kitchen appliences.
Dust my bedroom and Wyatt's bedroom
Sweep and mop the whole house (which has NO carpet except for a rug in the living room)
Make dinner (cheddar jack chili mac, homemade cornbread, and the last of the spicy apple gingerbread cake)
clean up from dinner
Dh and I will have to bath the boys since we skipped it last nite to finish organizing Wyatt's room.
Here's the recipe for anyone that wants it:
Spicy Apple Gingerbread:
Amister’s Recipe
2/3 C. butter/margarine
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 C. molasses
4 cups sifted flour
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
4 t. ground ginger
2 t. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C. buttermilk
4 t. baking powder
3 C. chopped peeled apples
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs. Add molasses, and beat until well blended. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt. Add half of the flour mixture to the molasses mixture, stirring well. Add half the buttermilk, stirring until well blended. Add the rest of the flour mixture, stirring well and the rest of the buttermilk, beating the mixture until well blended. Stir in the apples. Spread batter in a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 50 minutes, or until done.
And here's the frosting recipe I used:
Cream Cheese Frosting:
2 packages cream cheese (8 ounce) softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.
Ok - I need to grab a shower before the kids get up!
Hugs,
K
Thanks everyone...it wasn't so bad. It was an orange crush drink that did not taste to horrible.
I hope everyone is having a good day!
Oh and thanks for the recipe Kristy I think I am going to make that this weekend :)
