I hope everyone had a great holiday! Sorry I've been away. My brother left last night, and mom left this morning. I will be around for the next few days, then Friday it's off to PA for round 2 with DH's family.
I loved watching Alyssa open gifts. She had to stop and take a nap before she got them all opened. Then we got to play with them all:) I think that she had a good time, but waaaaaaay too much stimulation. I think that today we will take it easy.
I need to exchange some clothing items for her, but it's pretty dark here today. They are calling for snow showers, then snow, so maybe we will venture out tomorrow. I have LOTS of laundry to do. I figure that's a start.
Ana, I know what you mean about Christmas being different - we usually celebrate with dh's family on Christmas Eve, but they went to Arizona this year, to celebrate with one of dh's brothers.
We had a wonderful Christmas also :o) Mom got here friday morning, and we did some shopping and hung out. Saturday we did more shopping all day, then went to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags. Most everyone was here Sunday, and we opened gifts, then the kids still had presents from santa yesterday. My brothers were all here yesterday, and we stuffed ourselves until we were about to pop lol. My mom and stepdad just left to go home a little bit ago, and Kyle is taking the day off and will work saturday. I need to run to the mall to exchange some things, and we may swing by the store and pick up some christmas lights for next year. I need to get some cleaning done... last night my living room looked like Toys R Us had exploded in it lol. My fil may come over again today since it's his birthday.
I have a feeling I may crash tomorrow and completely veg out ;o)
Sorry I have been MIA this last week but DH was home. Our Christmas went way too fast. We went to BIL on Sunday and had a nice dinner but it was a long ride for a short visit. Then yesterday we went to my parents and that is where DH left from. So it was a bittersweet day. The kids got so much stuff. My parents struggle with money with retirement coming but they always make Christmas special for the kids. DH left after we opened presents and got family picture done. My grandma who is 94 was there so it was nice. Hope everyone had a wonderful day.
Christmas here was really good. All though we thought with the money situation we were put in right before christmas it wouldn't be. All four of the kids got the one thing they really wanted so that was great. I suprisingly got a great present from my mom this year. Maybe she is finally growing up and we will mend our bad relationship this next year. Today not much going on just cleaning the little bit that didn't get done last nite and laundry. Also we are gonna try to teach my older dd how to ride her new bike without falling off. Not sure what else maybe some relaxing with DH since it is his 28th bday. Kashmir
There is a bit of me that feels great relief today to get things back to normal. My house is a wreck so cleaning is definitely on the to-do list today. I need to run to Sam's Club when DH wakes up. I'm also planning on putting away the Christmas stuff and taking down the tree. We put everything out the day after Thanksgiving so I figure that one month is long enough. Besides, we need the room for all of Noah's new stuff.
Christmas was really nice. DH worked the graveyard shift on Christmas Eve so it was just me putting things together and organizing the presents under the tree. We bought Noah a big Dora the Explorer Pirate Ship which is like a big Little Tykes thing he can go in and crawl in and out of. He loved it but I had to put it together Christmas Eve because DH wasn't here. Christmas morning we opened presents. Noah was psyched with his Pirate Ship and couldn't care less that there was a ton of presents for him under the tree. In fact, most of them didn't get opened until late afternoon when FIL came over for Christmas dinner.
