Well, it's been a busy week here...inlaws were in from California, which was fun but made for some full and busy days since they were staying with us. They left yesterday. Ellie has a sinus infection, she's had a runny nose for over two weeks but over the weekend she started REALLY getting congested and coughing and fussing and having a low grade temp. So yesterday I hauled her to the doctor's in between packing in the last minute events with my inlaws and she started antibiotics. I started feeling a little crappy this weekend myself, sinus pain/pressure and stuffy nose and cough...and today I got a little temp of my own so I ran to the doctor and had to start on antibiotics too.

Can anyone relate to having to drag a 16 month old to your own appointment? Ugh, this was my first time having to do that. I'm not usually sick and DH was a student up until last fall and so like my routine appointments and stuff he always stayed with the baby. But DH is at work and it's not like I can call my mom to drop everything and run 2 hours down here just so I can get my cold checked out, ya know? So I just took her along. She's walking and into EVERYTHING and they didn't have any toys there at all...and the plants and magazines were much more interesting than any toys or snacks that I brought along. And of course they were running late. So yeah, that whole ordeal pretty much set the tone for my day I'm afraid...she's late going down for her afternoon nap now and she's just up there hollering and tossing stuffed animals and books out of her crib at the moment. I pray she falls asleep because my head is throbbing and I could seriously use a nap myself.

But on the bright side, it's beautiful outside today. And I have all day tomorrow to enjoy some peace and quiet before my sister arrives with her clan on Thursday. I'm getting laser eye surgery and my sister is coming down (2 hour drive) with my 13 month old nephew and 9 year old niece...she'll watch Ellie and then my 17 year old niece will drive me to the appointment for the surgery. They're all staying overnight, but will be leaving Friday around noon. It will probably be a little overwhelming to have that many houseguests at once...and my nephew has an ear infection and then of course Ellie has her sinus infection...but it will be soooooooooo worth it because I can't WAIT to get rid of glasses/contacts forever!

Hope the week goes well for everyone. I am totally NOT cooking tonight, so I'd better call DH at work and tell him to bring home some takeout :)

awww. :( Sending **feel better quick** vibes for Walker. There are so many people to remember to send vibes for - they all mean so much, and I don't want to forget anyone, but I'm having trouble remembering everyone's needs. The way I figure it, if the intention is there, the Universe can sort it out where it needs to go. :)

Just a quick update to my earlier Coffee Break... My day is improved a million-fold. Alex (dh) and I had a great talk about our division and labor and attitudes, etc. We both needed that talk, and things have been much more pleasant now that we both understand each other. Alex really needs to be reminded of age-appropriate expectations. I'm helping him, but he needs to get on Babycenter and other resources like that and look it up himself if he has a question. I also suggested that maybe he come on here if he's got any specific questions. I told him about all of you wonderful ladies and how at least one of the moms on this board has some BTDT experience for him. (If that idea is a problem for anyone, please let me know. I'd be posting his question under my name, and I'd let y'all know it's him.) Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know things have improved. :)
