Tuesday a.m. already? Really, yesterday I felt like I was running a track & field event! LOL! I didn't stop for a moment. I TRIED to come to chat, but those of you that were there, know that I had to leave only moments after arriving. Molly got invited to a friend's house to swim right after I got there. DH called looking for something, etc. The list goes on. So, today, once again, I'm running, but not quite as much. After the kids are on the bus, I will fold a basket or 2 of laundry, then go to the basket supply store. AFter that, I'll go to recess. Today after recess they have a Farewell to 6th grade program, that they have asked me to speak at! Sheesh! I hate speaking in public! But, the teacher insists that the kids adore me on the playground and would love it if I got up there and said something. So, I will. It will be kind of fun!! After that, I'm home to work on baskets (I should be able to finish them tonight). Dinner - not sure what we are having yet. So that is my day. I'll pop in when I can....

Hugs,
Wendy

I'm sure you'll do great speaking today Wendy!

Good morning everyone!

I've been up since 5am (thank you Brayden), and am about to go make a pot of coffee since Kyle will be getting up any minute. I need to finish up the laundry that is in the washer & dryer, and get a little bit of cleaning done around here. I didn't have time yesterday to work on the decorations for Brayden's cake so hopefully I can do that today. I ended up sending out email invitations instead of mailing them... soooo much easier.

I hope everyone has a wonderful & blessed day today!

Hey ladies. Hope everyone is having a good morning.

I was hoping I would be in the hospital today having a baby, but no luck. I had my membranes stripped, walked, rode my bike, had my feet massaged and nothing. UGH

I plan on just taking it easy, maybe clean and thats about it.

Have a great day ladies.

Good morning, gals! Not much planned for the day. I need to exercise and will probably lay out and try to get my tan on. It's supposed to be sunny with a high of 82. I layed out yesterday and ended up with a stiff neck today from laying on my stomach with my head turned for too long. I usually am not into that sort of thing but have that HS reunion on Saturday and these legs are white! I look so much better with a tan.

I also need to do a little bit of cleaning. Just the basics. My pet peve is hair on the bathroom floor. Eeeewwww!! Where's my swiffer?!?!?

::SLURPING MY COFFEE::

Good morning! On the way to taking Matthew to the bus stop, Jenna tripped and skinned her knee. And I mean *really* skinned her knee, poor baby! Her screaming could have woken the dead in a nearby county, and when she saw the sight of her own blood, she almost hyperventilated. Now she's playing it a little. She keeps faking those trembling breaths, and while I type this, she is on my lap.

I tried to clean out her knee, but her screaming caused my eardrums to vibrate at such a high frequency, my brain was jolted. She also kicked at me with her other leg. This child is going to wind up giving the world a run for it's money!! And I'd been told boys were harder?? So I don't think I cleaned it very well, but I did spray Bactine on it while she shrieked as if I were killing her. I'm thinking the neighbors might be calling Family Services on me right now for child abuse. And I finally got it bandaged up with Disney Princess band-aids. That helped quiet her. Of course, when Jenna is hysterical, Tessa becomes hysterical because I swear they are still connected in some weird psychic way. I think Tessa cried longer than Jenna. I pity their future boyfriends!!

My neighbor kindly offered to help me, but I didn't want to be responsible for her hearing damage incurred by my daughter's high-pitched shrieking.

Oh, and Matthew told me this morning that the 4th grade bully on his bus has started calling him "gay" again. The Mommy Bear in me wanted to march on the bus myself and show him just what I think of his choice of target, but I controlled myself. When your kids get picked on, it makes you ballistic inside.

So that's my day so far. And Jenna is definitely being the Drama Queen now. The fakey-shakey breathing is killing me. It's hard not to laugh. . . I swear girls are a unique experience. . . I wonder if I was that bad at age 2.5??

I think I need to run away from my kids at a high-speed right about now. Maybe I'd lose the 3 pounds I gained on vacation last week. Too bad I can't put them on PAUSE for a while. Ever have that urge? Just push that PAUSE button?

Aww! Poor Jenna! And what's with boys calling each other 'gay'? Nikki said the boys on her bus call each other that all the time. I finally had to explain to her what that meant and why it was considered an insult and why they shouldn't be saying that because she had no clue. It was a VERY interesting conversation. It's made more interesting by the fact that we have a couple of committed gay men living right next door? I'm not sure I should've clued her in on that, but I just wanted to make the point that people who are gay are for the most part just like everyone else. I can only imagine what's going through her mind now everytime she sees them.

LOL!! I'm having the same issue. Matthew asked me what it meant, and if it was a bad word. I told him it wasn't a nice word, but didn't tell him what it meant. Michael got all over my butt for saying it wasn't a nice word, that I'm going to make him homophobic. . . What the heck am I supposed to tell him? I don't want him thinking it's nice to say that to someone, and have him turn around and tell my FIL or my Dad "Hi Grandpa, you're gay".

He's still clueless about what it means. I don't know how to approach that one. He'll be 8 in September. I don't even know if he knows about sex yet, but the time is fast approaching where we probably need to have That Talk. I think I'll leave that one up to Michael. Man-to-man, ya know? Maybe he can throw the "gay" in then, in a diplomatic way.

BTW, Michael said the same thing: boys call each other "gay" all the time, and for me to blow it off. I just am not getting that!

LOL, Sophia! I just told Nikki that sometimes for some unknown reason some boys love other boys in the way mommies love daddies. And the same for girls who love girls. And I told her that that doesn't mean that they are bad people, it just makes them different and so calling someone 'gay' is wrong because that word should never be used as an insult. She then proceded to ask how someone knew that someone was gay and we then had a hysterical conversation about stereotypes, what they were and how sometimes they don't apply. She thought the idea of a man who loves to shop and sing show tunes was too funny.

Great answer!! Think I'll print it out and save it to use myself! Where do you come up with such great wording? I'm impressed.

I think it's funny you have gay guys living next door. What an eye-opening experience for your kids to grow up with. When I was growing up, we had 2 gay women on my street who owned a house together. One was *really* feminine and girly, the other was so masculine, I thought she was a man until I was 14, LOL! I used to say "Hi Mr So-and-so" and she never corrected me either!
