Good Morning, Mel! Sounds like a nice quiet day for you! We have a quiet day, too. No plans, at all!! DH and I do have a meeting at 4:30 at the Town Hall with the Assessor. I will not go into this story, as it is sooooo maddening, but let's just say, justice will be served!

Anyhow, I plan to enjoy a beautiful day, and the girls will go to the neighbor's to play later today.

Hugs,
Wendy

Hey, gals! Eating yummy banana bread muffins here (thanks to Desiree ;o) ) and not much planned today. Had to take the van to the shop last night, so I'm sure not going anywhere. I need to give baths, do laundry and try to treadmill. I'm also about to nuke the kitchen, cause I've tried everything and the ants are STILL there (no, vanasa, borax and pdr sugar didn't work). Grrrrrr. I just vinegared the counters. I found a line of them marching to the counter sponge this morning as I'd left a couple crumbs in it. Dh sprays around the foundation and in the garage, I mop and mop and wipe and wipe and nothing keeps them away. It's got something to do with the land we live on, all my neighbors have the same problem.

Anyway, have a great day!
Erin

Ugh - been there with ants!! I read just recently that you should sprinkle Cinnamon where they enter the house. I haven't needed to try it yet, but I'm keeping it in the back of mind. Also, if you don't have pets, or you have a good place to use it, try the Terro ant killer. It is a liquid, and you just put a couple of drops on a little piece of cardboard, and they eat it and take it back to the nest to share - it takes a couple of days, but it works pretty well.

Wendy

Just can't stop cracking up with that Asparaguy Blinkie!!

It's raaaaaaaaaaining again! Surprise, surprise. One of these days, we're going to float out into the Atlantic Ocean. . . So now what am I going to do with these kids? The pool is my saving grace and I'm beginning to feel like we wasted hundreds of dollars joining, because it's rained so much, we just haven't been able to go enough. The boys have a swimming lesson this afternoon, too, but I'm not at all optimistic. It's coming down in sheets.

So I just showered, and none of my kids are dressed. I'm sipping my second cup of coffee. Every 3 seconds, Justin bugs me with another question. His last one was "Do you die if a lobster pinches you?" LOL! He's got my husband's inquisitive mind. I guess that's a good thing, but it can drive you nutzoid when he asks 900 questions in half an hour.

Michael asked me to drag all 4 kids in to have lunch with him at the hospital today. He even said "Pretty please?" LOL! It's not happening. I am just NOT in the mood to deal with it. I hate to disappoint him, but it's just not an easy task with the 4 of them, especially in a downpour.

My SIL is apparently being released from the hospital sometime this morning. Her fever's gone. If DH gets home from work early enough, I might make them dinner and bring it over this evening. I went to see her in the hospital last night, and the poor thing looked so worn out, but she's cute with her baby belly!

Have a great day everyone!

Sofia

Something I like to do with the girls on a rainy day is make play-doh. If you want the recipe, let me know. I usually make several colors, and they have a blast. Once it is made, they play for a long time!!

Or, build a tent out of chairs and blankets. Then, we always make a picnic. I literally get out the picnic basket and pack just as if we were going to the park. We picnic under the tent in the living room, while watching movies!!

My goofy kids also like to make paper bag masks. Just us grocery bags and cut out the eyes, etc. Put in arm holes and pop them on their heads. They could even color them if they wanted to. They wear them all over the place. Kinda funny!

Just a couple of ideas to get you going. If that doesn't help, go to the family fun website. There are always super easy projects on their website that my girls really enjoy. Sorry you are having such a rainy summer! I won't tell you that for the 2nd day in a row it is supposed to be high 70's, sunny and not a cloud in the sky!!

Wendy

high 70s?!?!? I wish! LOL
We went to Six Flags yesterday and it was so hot & humid we were miserable. We didn't even get to stay but about 3 hours b/c a severe storm rolled in, which was probably a blessing b/c if we'd stayed any longer we probably would've had heat stroke.

Kyle has to work today, but the kids & I are supposed to do something with my BIL & SIL today since they are going home tomorrow... not sure what though.

Hope everyone has a great day!
