confusing future

As my kids get older (youngest will be in Kind in 1 1/2 yrs), I secretly wish I could have another baby to continue my stay at home status (dh had vas. 3 yrs ago so it's a no go). I really enjoy being home, but can see for financial reasons and kids activities, i'd have to go back to work. I was a nurse before, but feel i am so out of the healthcare loop that no one would hire me due to the length of time I've been away from the profession (6 yrs). I also see it impossible for me to work 12 hr shifts and put stress on my kids with struggling to find after school care with my husbands crazy schedule. I am not really into babysitting but do on occasion for a friends child, that's about all I will do. I try to sell on e-bay, but that doesn't really make enough to amount to a whole lot of income. Just thought I'd vent. I am in my 30's and am feeling the "next phase" of parenting. Sorry to ramble, thanks for reading! Ann

Big hugs Ann. I am hopefully going to stay home quite a while since we are homeschooling, but you never know.

Can you take a few classes during the year to "keep up". I know we have someone on this board who is a nurse who just works weekends...could this be a possiblility for when the kids get older?

I think it is good to bring this subject up. Not everyone here will remain home and will go back to work, so it is something to research.
