We went to see Santa yesterday and youngest DD (5) wants a train table. We did not get her one due to size of our house and the price of it, but now she's expecting this table under the tree Christmas morning. We did get some add on pieces to her smaller track, but how do I not disappoint her?

Ahhh the train table, lol. Those things are huge, and expensive. Thats why ds is not getting one. Luckily he didn't ask for one though. This is a good way to teach your dd that she doesn't always get what she wants. I hope she isn't too dissappointed!

I have to ask a question here.

Did Santa say "Of course" or "We'll see"?

Jewish woman here and never sat on santa's lap so I don't know what they say but if that santa said she would get the table I would complain so fast to the store manager their head would spin.

What I do when my son wants something is tell him that he gets some things for whatever holiday/birthday and that's that. I get him some things he really wants and some things are too expensive/large etc. and he has to learn that he doesn't get everything he wants in his life. Hard lesson to learn for a little one, but one that needs to be taught as young as possible otherwise you get a brat who expects everything they want.

tell her that santa thought she would like the pieces to the train she already has because the elves couldnt fit the big one in the sleigh.
