Desperate for extra $$

I've been home for a year now with my 1yo DS and up until now I've been living on my savings and it's almost gone! Yikes! I'm not used to not having my own money to spend. DH has a stict budget so it's out of the question to get money from him for anything that isn't a neccesity. So my question is how do you all make extra cash when you need it?

* Its worth it for me to stay home, I can live with out the latest fashions, etc because I know it's only temporary. But if I can make some money while being a SAHM, I'd like to try.

I don't need to make extra cash for my little spoils.

DH sees it as his duty to support all four of us for essentials and frivilous items. Also, we both have a say in how the budget works and what it should pay for. If anything, I'm the one who drives the budget.

The way we've got it set up at present, I get X amount per week from DH for spending on 'me' things. I used to spend whatever I wanted, but I was spending too much. So, I decided to set myself a personal budget so as to keep myself in control. It works really well.

I'm actually considering returning to part time work next year, but that money won't be 'mine'. It will just get thrown in with all our other money for distribution where-ever it needs to go.

Thank you for your reply. Shortly after posting, DH and I were talking and he decided it would be good to give me an allowance per month. He handles the budget, does an excellent job and doesn't like to buy things unless needed so i know it took alot for him to agree to it, actually, it was his idea. Sounds like we have great, supportive DHs!

That's great! It's nice to have your own little amount that you can spend on whatever spoils you like
