My husband (sorry new to message boards, think that is supposed to dh, but I'm not sure what the d is for, lol) and I are in the process of adopting three children from our local children's services agency. We are pretty young, I'm in my early 20's, he's in his mid-20's. So neither of us have been in our careers for that long. I am desperately searching for something I can do from home. My degree is in Interior Design, but I don't feel that I can do that from home this early in my career, I think in this area I would definitely need to work in the field for awhile and make a name for myself before I could be successful on my own. Anyhow, I have always wanted to be able to stay at home with our kids when we have them. I don't want to adopt them and then have them raised by someone else while I work all day. (Disclaimer here-not that I think there is anything wrong with mothers working, I just have always wanted this for me and my family)I am desperate to know what you who are working from home are doing! I have to still be bringing in an income because as it is right now I'm the bigger earner and we can't do without my pay entirely. I am writing on here because I desperately want to know what others are doing out there to be able to stay home with their kids and still bring in an income. I have started up with a home party company, but that has it's up and down times and right now I'm in a down time. We need something more stable than that for me to be able to leave my full-time job. I am open to hearing any ideas-ones that are actually working for YOU-not ones that you've started and others are doing well at-I want to hear what is working for YOU. Because there are a ton of people doing well with the business I'm already in, but I'm not doing as well, so I want to hear about what you're doing that is working. I have been looking into all sorts of stuff, errand services, ebay selling, childcare (but with 3 kids of my own to watch I would have to watch FAR too many kids to make up for my full time income) etc... I don't know if you're allowed to post things that would seem like ads or recruitments on this message boards, and I don't want anyone getting into trouble on my behalf so just tell me a little bit about it or send me a message privately. And someone please tell me what the d in dh is!!! LOL

Well, if you have ANY kind of graphic design experience, or are good with Photoshop, Paintshop, etc., I recommend Cafepress. I have a store through them where I design the t-shirts, they handle ALL production and shipping, and I make money through commissions on my products. I started in August, and wouldn't say it's something that's necessarily reliable, but I DID make a lot of money over Christmas. You can email me through my profile if you'd like more info! Good luck!
