My husband left again today for 3 weeks.
I am already sad and mopping around the house.
I just wish he would get a different job sometimes.

I'm sorry that you are sad today - do you have any exciting plans to look forward to? I know it isn't the same as having dh there, but it might help you feel a little better. My dh used to travel a lot, but he could always come home on the weekends. What does dh do that he is gone for so long?

I hope you have a good weekend.

Mel,

My DH travels all the time and when he is in the office, he rarely comes home before midnight, so I feel the same way almost all the time and it sucks. I have been doing some more things for myself to help pass the time and make me feel better. For example, I love peppermint and Origins carries a peppermint foot soak, so at the end of the day, I give myself a peppermint foot soak while reading/posting here and the feel and smell of mint boosts my mood. I strongly recommend it. Perhaps this is a good time to catch up on all the "girlie" TV shows/movies your DH won't watch. Definitely chatting with all of you helps to feel not so alone, so I am around and if you feel like chatting, just write! PS: chocolate is a big mood booster, so if you are a chocolate lover like me, buy some really good chocolate tomorrow and when the kids are sleeping...indulge!

Hang in there, the time will fly by,

Elyssa

Sorry you are feeling sad Mel, I like the idea on the other posts about catching up on girlie movies. Reading is how I pass the time when Dh is gone. Both my ds's go to bed at 8:00 sharp, so that is a big time for me to have ME time.

Hope you have a good day!

My husband is in the Merchat Marines and works out of Tampa, we live in GA.
I wish he could come home at least 1 time a week, but there is no chance of that.
He is gone 3 weeks straight and I maybe get a few phone calls, but thats it.
Its just the first few days that are hard. The days go by so slow even when I have something to do, which I like to keep busy.
