I am such an idiot! Some company just called me saying my name had been selected to be in a drawing for $25,000. I'm not sure how they got my name, I think from my credit card bank. Anyway, they went through this whole shpeel about how I won a diamond watch just for being selected and 5 free subscriptions to magazines. Of course they wanted me to subscribe to one magazine and for some foolish reason I did it. It ended up being $39.90 a month! I gave them my debit card info and everything. Thankfully I was able to call back and cancel the whole order. I talked to a lady in the shipping dept that assured me everything would be taken care of and my account would be refunded and all that, but still that company still has all my info. The ladies I talked to were so nice and friendly that I freely answered all their questions, like are you married, total household income, name of my dh and my son! Why would I give out all that info? I know better than that. Now I am freaking out. I'm sure it was a legitimate company but it still scares me that they have my address and my son's name. And it also worries me that I gave that info out to them w/out thinking. What is wrong with me??

I hate it when they catch you in a weak moment and you give them more info than necessary. Thats happened to me before as well. Just watch your next few cc statements to make sure you arent charged for the subscription, and if you are, make sure its credited back. If you start receiving unwanted calls, or "offers" you can call the company and get your name removed from the call list. Sometimes this takes quiet a few requests before its done.

Good luck!

We all do these things, it happens to the best of us.
I would call back and ask them to remove you from any lists they have and are associated with.
Good thing you were able to cancel.
