I'm just wondering how many of us went to college and what was studied.

I went to Purdue and left with a Bachelor of Science (information systems).

Yuck! Technology is one of the most frustrating things to me! I don't blame you, Jen, for not wanting to get back into it!

I have a bachelor's in elementary education from New Mexico State Univ. I did teach for about 5 years before T came along. I doubt I'll go back to teaching. It was so stressful and disheartening!

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University. I really wish I'd just gotten something that would have allowed me to be a technologist, I like the hands on work and honestly engineers are mostly project managers and spend their life in meetings. I have no clue where or what I would want to do down the road. I always thought an architect would be fun.

Oh, I love technology. I just don't want to have to try and compete with people just out of school for a job, especially since technology changes so fast. I try to keep current, but it's not always easy.

My dad is a mechanical engineer. Or was. He's semi-retired now. He did a lot of work with the steel mills and refineries in our area. He comes in really handy for bathroom remodeling, but he's such a perfectionist it's almost painful for the guys (DH, the BILs, and my brothers) to want to ask him for help sometimes.

I'm in Indiana. We're in a small town in NW IN that nobody's ever heard of, but it's about 45ish minutes from Chicago.
