Ok,I don't want to sound like the nagging person in your head that
you maybe related to or whatever but does anyone here look at the
price of bounty paper towels compared to other brands or even the
walmart brand? Its paper towels for gosh sakes. Laundry soap or
other silly items we all have to buy. I look at cheer or tide and
the price it just redico! So how many of you look at how much it
costs befor you put it in the cart? How many of you buy it and
don't care that it costs more? How many of you buy off brand stuff?

That's funny you post about this, I have been thinking about the same thing! The other day I went to Wal-Mart and was determined I was not spending the $50 or more I usually do there. Instead, I bought all off brand items and spent like 75% less than I normally do! My dh makes very good money, and we can afford all name brand things, but I would rather spend less so we can save more, and save for vacations. Im really paying attention to prices, I use to just throw it in the cart, but not anymore, lol!:)

Ha ha, I have my brand name items and then I have my store brand/cheaper products. Mostly like shampoo, conditioner, paper towels, stuff like that I will buy the cheaper sort. My cereal I buy brand name and store brand, just depends on if I am feeling the need to save money! ha ha...

LOL, Bounty are the only paper towels I can use! They last so much longer than every single other brand I have tried. I only buy the two packs or single ones, not the huge packs of them b/c those rolls are smaller. After shopping for so long I know what brands work for us. We do use alot of generic though, b/c with some things I know there is not a difference with the product.

About the only things on prices I don't compare are: Diapers(HAVE to use Pamper's Cruisers), Cat food(The cats are on Purina Indoor Cat Chow), and soda(when I buy it), and garbage bags(I like the stretchy ones that don't break easily).

I buy bounty paper towels because I really do use fewer at a time, and they really do last longer. I used to spend the money on WISK laundry detergent, but we switched to the store brand and haven't noticed any difference at all. TP, now being preggo I use alot of it!, and both DH and I are particular about it, we use the cottonelle with the aloe and we like it better than any other brand. I did buy some of that new disinfecting spray (2.50$ on sale) but my mum pointed out that windex ($.93 at walmart) is what she's been using for years and it does pretty much the same thing. I DO buy the stretchy garbage bags, because to me THOSE ARE WORTH IT. There are few things more disgusting than a garbage bag breaking and spilling garbage all over the place!

Things I am okay with going generic on: most cleaning supplies, napkins, shampoo/body wash, laundry detergent and soda but only root beer...generic ginger ale is probably the most disgusting thing I have ever tried to drink! :)

I will usually buy the off brand.... unless i have a coupon (and remembered to bring it;) ) Actually we do buy a name brand paper towel, and i think it might be bounty lol. its the one w/ select a size. Tony asked that we get those ones. he doesnt much care about a lot of other things we buy, so when he makes a request,i usually do it. i think that its because you can use a smaller one & they last longer, and better quality ... i don't know. Toliet paper I am picky about, and get Cottenelle or whatever it is spelled, ripples & soft. So it really depends on what i am buying, but i tend to do off brand on most things.
