Hi. I was hoping someone could shed some light on double strollers. I'm expecting my second child in January. My son will turn 3 in February. We live in Chicago, so we won't be venturing out until spring. My son is a big boy; at 27 months he's already 38 inches tall and 37 pounds. Do you think I should make the investment and get a double stroller, or is it a waste of money? I don't think we'll have a third child.
I've done my homework and researched every double stroller out there. And I just can't seem to find all of the features I want (flat reclining seats, pivoting snack trays, lightweight, etc.). However, I'm in love with the Graco Coach Rider (it's like a bassinet on wheels!). But, it's only for one child. I'd love to get it, though because it is the only one with a true flat reclining seat.
Any thoughts? When do children typically stop riding in strollers? Any suggestions?

We used a double stroller for our girls when they were little. They are 3 years apart. So when my oldest was 3 and the middle was just born we started using one. I do not recommend the side by side one though. Those are tough to get in and out of places. I do not remember the brand we used but it was a full size front and back one. I believe the front seat reclined a little but the back seat reclined all the way flat for a newborn. We absolutely loved it!! It has been awhile but I think we use to put our oldest in a stroller till she was around 5 and our middle dd till she was around 6 (she is very light). In my opinion, I do recommend you invest in one cause kids always get tired of walking at any age and they just get to heavy to carry them around..lol.

I have a great stroller by Graco called the "sit and stand". I LOVE it! When my little one was born my oldest was 3. It had a reclying seat in the front that could be covered or not. It also had a connector to hook your infant car seat right on top. One of the neatest feautures is in the back where there is a bench seat for your toddler. They can sit down or you can push in the bench seat and they can stand up and ride. My oldest loved this and felt like such a big boy. My only grip is that you could only cover one child with the top sun protector. I had to buy an extra umbrella stroller to cover my oldest.
Oh and it was surprisingly easy to set up and push with one hand.
