I used to love DYK threads.  Anyone interested in getting one started?

I have a few spots my dentist has been watching for 3-4 years and as long as they don't change we leave them alone. The kid's dentist is into filling everything which is really annoying.

Pumpkin cream cheese sounds so good... I just cooking up one of our pumpkins and roasted the seeds today. I'll have to get some cream cheese next week.

DYK I just got back from the dentist. My dentist is my BIL. I had to have a filling done. It makes me mad because there was a spot my old dentist was "watching" (watching for it do do what? sing and dance?) for the last two years. But, whatever. At least it's over with. I just wish my face didn't feel like silly putty. All I want to do is drink a mug of coffee.

Cinnamon cream cheese dip sounds really good.  I think that's something my kids would like.  Now that it's fall (tomorrow), I was thinking of whipping up some pumpkin cream cheese.  Last year, I saw a friend on FB mention pumpkin cream cheese being sold in stores.  I couldn't find it, so we just added pumpkin puree to cream cheese and it was a hit.

I'm glad the nanny is working out well, I'd have a tough time figuring out where to let someone help me too. That sounds like a good lunch for Monkey, it's nice he's not picky. Mine get the school lunch and Luke has been having trouble adjusting. Even if I packed his lunch it would be PB&J every day and that isn't healthy. I'm hoping it opens him up to new stuff like it did with Alex. Our school has gone almost too healthy (tater tots are made of sweet potatoes) and there is some weird stuff I'm sure the kids aren't eating.

We are having a late start today which is nice, they are doing them once a month rather than the 1/2 days they used to do. I'm taking Nathan to the Dr today. He got popped in the chin with the ball while playing keeper Monday night and got a bad headache, yesterday he said his head was hurting when he jumps so he might have a concussion. He's fine otherwise so I don't think it's serious, we just need to know if he needs to be sitting out at all.

Alex has decided he wants to join band which I'm ok with, except the only brass instrument that worked for him was the french horn... so they are like over $4,000 and even the rental program is $60 a month. If he decides after a year he doesn't want to play we are out all the money. Or we could spend the next 9 years paying it off at that rate. I'm looking int buying a used one which is still a lot up front but if he changes his mind we can at least sell it to get some of the money back. I found one on Craigslist for $1000 so I'm hoping the band teacher says it is a good one and it is still available.

I scored some great deals on clearance toys this week for Christmas, I'm all ready to start holiday shopping! Outside of Nathan wanting a 3DS I'm not sure what all they are going to want.

Nanny is settling in really well.  The boys really like her (although they don't like it when she does things I 'should' do) and she's been going to church with DH's cousin and meeting lots of people.  She's super helpful, except that I don't know what to ask of her so we've had a bit of a time trying to figure out a routine.  Right now, Nanny helps me get the two little boys through breakfast and dressed while I take charge of Monkey, who really needs someone to help him focus, then after he gets off to the bus stop she makes sure Monster and Mayhem are entertained while I'm doing chores or in therapy.  Afternoons we get the two little boys down for a nap at the same time and then Nanny and I can have some grown-up time, which is nice, or do whatever.

I haven't had too tough of a time packing lunches so far.  Monkey doesn't seem to eat a whole lot at school and there is a whole variety of foods that he likes, so it's been pretty easy.  Tomorrow's lunch will involve animal crackers and cinnamon cream cheese dip, salad, trail mix, and half a banana (which I'm sure won't get eaten).

How is the nanny doing?

I hate packing lunches too.  Ian is kind of picky.  He doesn't like any kind of sandwiches besides a plain cheese sandwich with baby spinach (kind of an odd combo for a 2nd grader to request, isn't it?).  I'm always worried I won't pack enough, but he comes home with food still in his lunch box claiming he doesn't have enough time to eat it.  I'm really confused by this because I volunteer to help with lunch/recess once a week, and he has plenty of time to eat!  Frustrating...

DYK I can wait until my kids start college.

DYK Monkey cried going on the bus on Wednesday for the first time. Now he's totally cool with it.

DYK the nanny comes tomorrow? I'm really nervous. I bet she is, too.

DYK I'm nervous about packing lunches? I'm afraid I won't do a good job.

DYK 7:48 sounds so late for a bus. Ours would get to our house at 6:55 at our old house. When does you school start and end? We start 8:15 and the go to 3:10. By dropping the kids off we can leave around 7:40 which isn't too horrible.

DYK soccer practice went well. I have one kid who is really good and just takes the ball and scores and 2 that don't want to be there. The one sat down during practice and took off her shin guards. Love trying to coach 4-6 year olds. One more practice and then games start up.

DYK I'm going to try and work through each room once the kids go back to school and organize. I tried sorting through the extra clothing one day and it just got too frustrating. You can have 2 shirts that say 5/6 but are totally different sizes. I don't really know how things are going to go with just JT at home. Really wish we had the money to do a 2 day preschool so he wouldn't be bored hanging out with me all day.

DYK our relaxing weekend is filling up fast. We painted the soccer fields today and then went to the indoor waterpark. Tomorrow DH and I are going to see a move and have dinner without the kids. Sunday is church and family soccer and having friends over. Monday we have soccer practice in the evening but I'm hoping to just relax during the day.

DYK I have TWO for-sure clients now and one maybe?  I'm so excited!

DYK I understand about being overwhelmed with stuff.  It feels like we're still digging out from underneath everything.  My mum has commented many times about how much stuff we have.  If you need an understanding ear, I'm here.

DYK Monkey and I walked to his bus stop yesterday?  He gets picked up at 7:48 in the morning.  That's an hour and a quarter before school starts!

DYK if you lived closer I'd hire you! I'm totally overwhelmed by the amount of junk we have even with what we cleared out this summer. Yay for getting your first client.

DYK I really wish we had started school yesterday. Nathan and JT are both in a mood, JT is screaming at everyone and Nathan is going out of his way to make everyone else cry.

DYK we get to meet their teachers tonight. It works out well because we always have trouble doing the back to school night because of soccer practices.
