Feeling totally yucky

I got my kids' cold!! UGH!! I haven't had a cold in like 8 months, but sure enough, as soon as they get sick, I get sick. Justin was sick first, then Tessa & Jenna. They were The Booger Girls all last week. Now I came down with it, as of yesterday. My throat hurts to swallow, my head is congested, I can't breathe out of one side of my nose, my muscles hurt, and now I feel like I'm getting a nasty cough, because I have that scratchy painful itchy feeling. YUCK! And I'm alone tonight. Michael's at work.
I took a prescription decongestant today, and passed out on the couch under an afghan for half the afternoon, and felt somewhat better. I just hate being sick, especially when I can't take the day off and just sleep, because of the kids. No rest for Mommy. Although I got some good rest today because Michael was home and watched the kids, but when he's at work, I have to keep going no matter how I feel.
Then Jenna was pulling on her ear this morning. I asked her if it hurt and she nodded. Michael got the otoscope to look at it, and she ran screaming upstairs. Ever since the flu shot, she's no fool. She's not letting Dad come near her with medical equipment! She lay in the upstairs hall screaming and kicking at him! You'd think he was torturing her on the rack! It took a bunch of coaxing and him telling her a story for her to finally let him look for 2 seconds! I swear this child is getting worse and worse at letting us do anything to her. Even dressing her can be a pain. But sure enough, he said her eardrum was red, so he had an amoxicillin 'script called in. Getting her to take the medicine was another nightmare I wanted no part of, and left it up to Dad. He's a pro at medicating kids, and it still took him forever, and she spat some of it out. She was gagging and fighting. I'm going to have to take her in to the hospital where he works to get him to give the amoxicillin to her, because I really don't think I'm going to be able to get it down her throat.
And I'm just feeling worn out. . . Time to go take a hot bath. . .
This kinda sucks. My 6 month healthy streak just ended!! :(

Awwww, hugs to you, Sofia.
I hope you feel better soon. We always get sick with our kids huh? I have had about 10 colds this year thanks to Andrew and now dalton being in pre-k.
I hope her ear feels better and you can get her to take that medicine. To me its not so bad and my kids love it, thank goodness. Shes just too smart for her own good
oh Sofia! I pray that you are feeling at least a little better this morning!!! There is nothing worse than when mommy gets sick, b/c we still have to run the show regardless of how we feel. Tons of prayers for you and Jenna for a speedy recovery!!!!!
(((((((((HUGS))))))))))
Hope you're feeling better today. What's with kids and ear infections, anyway? I had to take Ian to the doc Saturday morn, sure enough, double ear infection. Stinking horizontal eustacian tubes!! ;o)

Hope you feel better soon!!
Ugh!
Wow, Wendy! Jenna sounds *exactly* like Molly, even down to the "adorable, sweet & sassy" part! LOL! She is only 3, but what a character! She gives us a run for our money. Yet she is also a "sweet pixie girl" just as you say: passionately affectionate, free-spirited, already opinionated, smart as a whip, funny, energetic and DEFINITELY her own person. Forget that she and Tessa were one person for a brief moment in time (they're identical twins), Jenna is Jenna is Jenna is Jenna and she is no clone of her sister!
I may have to turn to you for lots of advice in the future. She definitely tries my patience, but I love her to death. Thanks for sharing your story! I see I'm not alone :)
