Been a long time since I posted here so I'll re-intro myself: I'm Sandy, SAHM to DD16, SS15 and DS3 (almost 4)...with another SS living w/ BM.

I clean, take care of running kids around....all the usual stuff.

I just want to know.... do *I* get a day off? It seems I have to *go away* somewhere to get any time that I don't have to worry if the dog/cats/fish have been feed..heck, before I even get to go to the bathroom first thing it's take the dog out (so he doesn't pee on flour), then feed cats(inside one and outside) then fish, then get breakfast started...all before I get to go.... I really am scared ***SOMETHING** is buiding inside. I DO NOT want to go back to work....but yet I want every1 else to realize that I do not just sit on my butt all day long.

LOL Little one knocking on door now.... gotta go. there ya go. end my day also with "mommie mommie mommie"

Am I a bad Mom to just want a break??>?>>?

Good moms definately need a break - if you dont take time to recharge the batteries, then you will be of no use to anyone.

Thank you!

Never thought of taking a cooking class.....great idea! I used to one thing a week and take DS to a sitter, then, my sitter cut back on how many kids she kept, and there went my "time off". My parents live next door and DS goes over there for a cpl hours a week and plays, but it's never a planned thing.... really hard to nail them down lol.

Thanks again...I'm gonna see if there are any cooking classes around here, I really like that idea.

(((((Sandy))))) Vanasa gave you some great advice. Not sure where you live (might be getting too cold now), but I love to sit at the park and read or to lock myself in a quiet room with the computer (not possible right now, but it used to be my favorite), I love to play the Sims and read in my room (the lights dimmed, everything cleaned, scented candles burning). I don't have childcare, either, and we live so far from everything I could do outside the house that when my dh is home and watching the boys, I have nowhere to go. Anyway... Just a few more suggestions. :) I hope you get the rest you so desperately need. The feelings you described are perfectly normal, but they are warning signs, too. You really need to find a way to pay attention to them before you implode. :) I hope

I try to take DS to the park at least once a week so he can play and I can just sit there, but it never works out that way. Where there are kids there, a majority of the time, their not being watched imo and it makes me nervous...or worse, there are no kids and I am the one playing with him. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE playing with him....just not every second.

Right now he's at pre-k, but it's only for about 4 hours. I do my shopping and then sit, but what to do?? lol By the time I'm done shopping and putting stuff up, I've only got *maybe* an hour.

I also have the SIMS game (dont' ya love it!). It's just so hard, to play, you need time. Time is so precious thou.

btw, I'm in Georgia, close to Savannah. Not to cold... we don't have much of a winter here.

Guess I need to put away those groceries. Great to be back!

Thanks!
Sandy

By no means are you a bad mom for wanting a break. Every person in the world once one, no matter their profession.
I think you deserve one and its worth it for you as well as your family.
If you are not happy and rested and happy, then you might not offer all that you can by being home.
I understand how you are feeling. I stay at home with 3 boys and my husband goes away for 30 days at a time. No breaks for me until he gets home.
As I said before, you are not bad for wanting something you deserve.

LMAO lol

Thanks! I needed a good laugh.

I read somewhere a long time ago, that a *housewife/sahm* would make, if paid for drivin kids around, meals etc, almost half a million $$$ a year. You would think our families would appreciate us more!

lol

Thanks again!
