When my husband and I went to church on sunday we were approached my a social worker that we were friends with. She started telling us about these five children that had just come to them. Then she got around to the real part why she came to us. She was wanting us to take them in and adopt them. We were both kind of in shock and did not know what to say at first. Well it looks like we are going to take them all on. Just my husband and I went to spend time with them this evening. Once we meet them, we knew that we would do this. I think we pretty much already knew but there is no doubt now. So they are coming to live with us starting friday. We have so much to get done in that amout of time. We are bring in 2 boys and three girls, so I have to figure out how I am going to do the arrangements. My husband is taking off the rest of the week to be with me and help us get ready. We are pretty sure after this semester that we are going to have to home school the kids because it will be cheaper with all of them. My husband and I are always questing for more knowledge and everyone of my children are that way too (here is hoping the new ones will be also), so they should settle into it rather easily. My husband is going to go into work tomorrow and talk with his boss to see if he can start working from home. All they would have to do is install the software to place the orders in his laptop. We are hoping that they will atleast let me work from home 3 days a week. That way if I need a little extra help he is here. We are going to try and have him stick with the work hours he does now, but that way no commute time. We would also have a business line put into our home that would just be for work. We are pretty sure they will not have a problem with it especially because of my husbands numbers in sales. He is consistantly the highest in his division. He definately will still have the motivation because we need the money, lol. We have to them go and buy clothing and shoes and new beds for the new children tomorrow. The social worker is suppose to bring them over for a while on Thursday night so that they can meet all the kids. I am scared silly about all this, as well as my dh, but we could not be happier. We are just hoping that we have some time before we have to have more children come in. Our kids are extremely excited about adding to the family. I just want to make sure that we definately can reach the older ones before it is to late, it breaks my heart all they have been through. After we make sure that everything is going good, we are to file with the courts the first week in November to adopt them all. THe parents because of all the charges they are facing have already signed over their rights. I think that at the end of the month both my mom and his mom are going to come and help for a while. I will just have to figure out someplace to put them. I already said that to both of them, they just laughed and said they would sleep where ever they had to. We have two sofa beds in the great room, so they will probably go there. So wish us luck, I am still going to try and keep everyone up-to-date as much as possible. And thank you all for your prayers and warm wishes. I am truely glad that I have found this board.
