Going out with 2 kids? Help!

Hi everyone!

I sometimes post here, but mostly lurk. I just had my second baby 2 weeks ago, and am wondering where in the world I am going to take my 2 kids now. When it was just DD and me, I could run all my errands with her (grocery store, etc.), but now that I have a newborn and a toddler, doing those errands is out of the question for now.

Here's my question - for all you moms who have 2 or more kids - where do you go to get out? I need to get out of the house once per day, and so does my toddler, but I've no idea where to go. I used to go to gymboree but that's only one adult for one child. I can't go anymore because I have two. The only thing I have lined up is a mom's group that meets only every other week for an hour. Where do I go now to get out??? I have no idea and I need to get out of the house soon!

Thanks for any ideas!

first off, congratulations on the new baby!!!!

I dont know where you live, or the weather conditions, but what about a walk to a park, or around the block. If you have a double stroller this will be easier lol. If not, is your oldest, old enough to walk on thier own? The only other thing I can think of is going for a walk in & around your local shopping mall. They usually have double strollers available, and are air conditioned, plus theres usually a play area for kids.

I'm glad you already have the moms group lined up already, thats great. Maybe you will meet someone through that who lives near by, and you can have playdates with.

Hope all turns out well,

Lesley

Check your local library for story hour. My youngest dd always LOVED going there. Also, is there a children's museum in your area? We have a really nice one here and you can get "season passes" so that you can go frequently. How about the zoo? That is always nice, too. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

Congratulations first off!

I think you can take both kids to the same events you and your dd enjoyed. Truly it just takes a little more organization. I know it can be overwhelming at first but it can be done. Also if you don't have one of those baby slings, you should think about getting one. I used to clean house, talk on the phone and play with my oldest Dh all while wearing my little one.

Good luck!
