Sorry I might not be too much help here cause I am mostly familiar with south Texas but if you are going to Austin you might want to check out Schlitterbahn, it is a waterpark in New Braunfels, TX (not far from Austin). The Travel Channel voted it the #1 family waterpark in the USA. I heard you never have to get out of the water to go to different things, even to buy drinks. If by chance you are near Houston/Galveston, then there is NASA Space Center (Houston) and Moody Gardens (Galveston). We have been to both of those and they are really fun. Also I heard that Houston has a great Childrens Museum.
hey Shannon... Fort Worth is pretty much the rodeo capital of Texas (and by far the best city here... of course I'm extremely partial LOL).
Make sure you check out the FW Stockyards (and eat at either Joe T Garcia's (they have a great strawberry margarita btw) or at the Old Spaghetti Warehouse). If you're into boot scootin' be sure to go to Billy Bob's. The FW Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and Omni Theater are all awesome too. Of course Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor aren't too far as well.
