I had the big appointment this morning. Last week the doctor told me (at 37 weeks) that if the baby was within 1/2 pound of DS' birth weight (8lbs 4oz) this week we would have to do a c-section because we had shoulder dystocia last time.
I know ultrasound weights can be inaccurate, but at 38 weeks she's measuring at about 6lbs 4oz!! He is satisfied that she's small enough to go ahead with the regular induction instead.
I am so relieved!!!! I was really worried about that c-section, mostly because of the recovery and the immediate aftermath. With DS' birth I was lucky enough to do it naturally and I was up and about less than an hour after he was born. I know anything can happen, but I'm so happy to at least be able to try it my way. Not to mention, maybe this baby will be closer to the 7lb range!
We're going in Monday night for an induction Tuesday morning. She'll be here in a week! I think this must have been the quickest pregnancy ever.
Thank you so much for your support ladies. You really helped me relax while I had to wait a week to find out what was going to happen.

Oh that's such good news!
Emily, I'm so happy to hear that. I know you were really stressing out about it and I'm glad you'll get to try a natural birth. One week! OMG! That's exciting! Take the week to rest and prepare. I'm looking forward to seeing baby pictures when you come home from the hospital!
