is rolling in. Molly woke up right in the middle of a pretty bad one this a.m. Then, it stopped about an hour ago, and now there is another one coming. She is very, very frightened of storms (she witnessed a pretty nasty one last year that destroyed our glass topped patio table right before her eyes) and I need to take her to VBS at my friends house. I have this feeling she will be staying with me. This poor child almost trembles with fear. After that nasty storm last year, we went to Home Depot a few days later, and while we were in the store, they made an announcement that tornadoes were spotted in the area and that we needed to stay in the store for safety's sake. She was UNGLUED!! We were trapped there for over an hour, and it was very, very ugly outside. Fortunately, it didn't come directly in our path, but it was very scary nonetheless. She is very nervous right now, and I really have a hard time comforting her. Then I have Katie, who is just curious, and knows quite a bit about storms, because they studied them in school. She is innocently asking questions like "Mom, that lightning we just saw was pretty bright. Was that deadly lightning? We learned about that in school". Like I said, totally innocent, but sets Molly off with another whole worry.
Wish me luck on getting thru the day!!
Hugs,
Wendy

awwwww Wendy, you have my p& pt.....
My brother was the same way, he had just watched the movie "Twister" and then he and my step dad were helping me move a dining room table i had just bought. he was in the truck & a monsoon started rolling in , dark clouds, lots of wind, rain, and he started freaking out terrified that a tornado was coming..... he was about 8y at the time. Hopefully she will outgrow it. I would try and follow life as normal, VBS if possible, maybe stay there with her at first...... Good luck!!!!!
