We are a family of 5 and we have 2 boys and a girl, ages 3,7 and 11.Lately it seems impossible to keep the cupboard stocked enough to keep them full!We have big lunches, and definetely huge suppers and they still eat me out of house and home!Last month I kept track of all my grocery bills and I came in at just over $1200 cad!I was just wondering what you gals spend on groceries and does anyone have the same pro? Thanks in advance.

BTW

I know,it's like another house payment to feed the kids! And you should see them when it's hockey season. We usually eat out after a game or practice if I don't have something in the slow cooker and that's about another $80 on the weekend with them having a couple of games each!Oh well, you have to feed them,it's the law, lol!

Wow! Well, reading these posts certainly gives me a better idea on what I will be spending in the future. My DH and I were just discussing that we need to set up a budget, and reading all these gives me a better idea. Since my son is only 12 months, I'm hoping I'll be able to keep it down to $400 - $500 a month. My DH and I love pasta so I guess we'll be eating a lot of that and not too much meat. I try to get organic, but sometimes I just can't afford that extra expense. Oh well.

Thanks!

It is the meat that kills us!And the fresh fruit and vegetables.Eating healthy is expensive, bottom line!My Dh loves pasta too,but he is first and foremost a meat and potatos man!I bought my groceries yesterday and only spent $160 though we did go out for supper. That will pro last me until maybe Wed. and I will be back for more.I'll let you know at the end of the week how it goes!

We are a family of 5, my dh and I then our children are my son is 9 1/2, my twin girls are 7. i spen about $600-$700 a month of all groceries. That is everything. Lately I have noticed an incread in appetite in one of my girls. I think she is growing. I keep a lot of fresh fruit and they gobble that up. Our lunches aren't big, sometimes our dinners aren't. I do go all out for dinner when I can. We are in softball season right now so quick meals is our thing right now.

We might, and that is a big might, eat out once a week. Some months just twice in that month. We just can't afford it. I don't budget in going out for meals at all. It's more of a spur of the moment, hardly planned in advance, and if we have the money.
