Argh! Its after 10:00 and everyone I know is asleep so I have no one to rant to, so here I am. Dh went out of town today for a meeting in the morning. He should have gotten there around 5:00 and I haven't heard anything since 4:45 when he texted me a joke. I've been calling and texting with no response. I called the hotel and the lady says he either cancelled the reservation or just didn't check in. He was supposed to meet a friend either for supper tonight or lunch tomorrow but I don't have his number so I can't call him. Its really frustrating cause even if he went to a bar, he'd be calling me every 5 minutes cause he's a sad "I miss my wife" drunk. His phone goes straight to voicemail which tells me its dead but even if he forgot a car charger, I know there's a wall charger in his bag. And even if he can't find that, if he's with the friend or even staying at the friend's house, they have phones and chargers he could use! This is sooo not like him. He's constantly calling me, especially at T's bedtime to see if he went down ok, then to see if I ate supper, then again when he's going to bed. My stomach is turning I'm getting so worried.

I really hope everything is OK, I'd be pretty worked up too. Have you heard anything yet?

At 7:00 this morning as I was picking up my phone to call the hospitals (again!) He called. I seriously lost it. He said he tried sending me a text, but his phone must have died before it went through. I didn't even know what to say to that. Anyway, among my hysterics there were lots of I'm sorries and I'm stupids. He had to get into his meeting, so we cut it short. He called me just now on his lunch. Said he met his friend and some other friends also showed up and they all got sh!t-faced and had to get a hotel by the bar since none of them could drive. After his phone died he just never thought to borrow one to call me.

Its exactly what I was hoping had happened. Of course, my imagination had all sorts of other scenarios running through my head. I'd pretty much planned the funeral and made arrangements to move in with my mom. LOL

He won't be home til like 7pm. This is one of the few times I'm glad his mom instilled a healthy dose of Catholic guilt in the boy. I'm also glad he's hungover and puking. Serves him right.

And you know, I totally don't mind him going out drinking with his friends. Hasn't seen them in about a year. What made me so upset was that I didn't even know if he even made it to town. And he's usually borderline annoying with his calling when he's out of town and gets aggravated at me if I don't call him several times a day if I'm spending a couple days at my mom's house. Anyway, he sounds like he feels like poo and I'm ok with that! ;) You know, my shoulders sure are tight since I didn't sleep well last night. I think a good long massage is in my future... ;)

Jen, I'm the same way! I never jump to that line of thinking. Funny, dh has the same issue with his new blackberry. This is the 2nd he's had this year already because the phone just sucks. One problem after another with that thing. Anyway, he's safe and sound, and will never be making that mistake again!
