Amen to the shouts of "Happy Saturday!!" :) DH has agreed to stay home today from work (he'll go in tomorrow) and I am SO glad for another adult present in the house after the week we have had around here! Ellie's fever was still 102 this morning and she's having some bouts of projectile vomiting and diarrhea now too. Yesterday DH walked in the door from work to find our new leather couch sprayed in vomit, the house in total disarray, dinner half-cooked on the stovetop and me upstairs trying to bathe a screaming baby (wife was splattered with puke too...and admittedly, I was sobbing quite a bit myself...I'd just had ENOUGH, heh).
So we got the house straighted up and we got dinner for ourselves and got the baby clean and tucked in...and then DH made a huge bowl of his homemade caramel popcorn for me and we laid on our recently cleaned couch and watched a crappy movie on TV...it was WONDERFUL. We have tag-teamed the morning routine and DD is down for a nap now. It was SOOOOOOO nice to be able to get a shower without her wailing and yanking at the curtain! (I was even able to shave my legs...must be the weekend!!) Now I've got a fresh cup of coffee and I'm taking a few minutes online before I head out to Target and the grocery store....ALONE :) Ahhh, so nice to not have to shop with a baby sometimes!
Anyway, should be a better day today....even though poor DD is still not feeling too well. But I can get the housework done and I plan to make a few meals ahead and tuck them in the fridge so that hopefully next week won't be nearly as hectic, even if she is still sick! Thank GOD for husbands. I SO appreciate having him around and helping for the day!
Krista and Jessie - I hope the kiddos feel better for you today. I'm sorry they are sick!
We don't have a build-a-bear up here so whenever we might ever get to take a vacation I'll have to take the kids to one. They had one in SLC when I lived in Utah but I never went there.
I spent last night cleaning and am still in a cleaning frenzy. DH is on night shifts so he'll sleep the day away and get up and go to work so there won't be much interaction there, unfortunately. I took the dog on a walk and made breakfast for DH and Noah this morning. Now that I'm starting to get a little hungry I need to figure out what I want to eat. I want to get the upstairs cleaned - vacuumed, finish laundry and clean the bathroom - early this a.m. so that I might be able to do some sewing come this afternoon. I bought some fabric a while back and have yet to tear into it. I'm anxious to do it, I just haven't had time.
It will be a low-key weekend. Just waiting to have this baby. Kel - have you seen Happy Feet? That's a cute, family movie. So is Open Season. And Noah would always vote for CARS, LOL. It's his favorite.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! We have to get the AC fixed in our car and pray it doesn't cost a fortune. I need to do some furniture shopping for my room too, and pick up a shade for Brayden's room and some groceries.
