Hi.

I'm looking for more information about mystery shopping. There seem to be so many companies out there. I would love to hear from some people that have tried it and what your expierence has been.

Thanks! Melanie

I have done mystery shopping for several years now, on and off. I love it. I have gotten mainly free meals.

Some things to consider when applying are:

Any company that needs you to pay a fee is a scam. Reputable companies will take your application without any fee. The idea is that they pay you.

Check how they will pay you. Some places send checks, others do PayPal while some do direct deposit into your bank.

Read the requirements of any shop (that is the term when you mystery shop) you do. Some places just need the numbers off the receipt while others need you to fax or send it in. I don't have a fax so I don't do those.

Check how long you have to do your survey. One place that I shop for requires you fill out the online form no later than 12 hours after you shop. Others are a day or so.

Lately, I have been seeing shops that say "No children allowed". Well, heck, I am a SAHM so those I really can't do.

All in all, I like doing it. I have a site somewhere with a list of a bunch of reputable companies. I will find it and post it. It is just too late here to find it! LOL
