Your poor baby!

Really, this is fairly common in baby's this age. Some children are afraid when they poop in the tub. To put it into adult terms, they feel a loss of control.

Or it could possibly be she is afraid of the drain. They realize the water goes down and do not want that to happen to them.

A good trick for both of these problems is to use the laundry tub trick. Put one of those round laundry tubs inside the bathtub. A dark colored one especially. Put her in the tub, then poor the water in from a large pitcher. Let her have some control of the situation by asking her to tell you when to stop pouring the water. Using bubbles and toys will also help to take her mind off of anything she finds scary.

Hope this can help some.

*as a side note for anyone lurking...please never leave a child around or in, any body of water alone*

My dd did this all of the sudden out of no where she freeked out. I then put her in the tub but handed her the shower head. I just said if you won't sit down and take a bath then you have to have showers. She was afraid of showers because the water got in her eyes. By handing her the shower head I gave her a bit of controll. She hated holding on to the shower head and sat down. I fliped the bath drain up and turned off the shower head. I also gave her like twenty bath toys. Some shaving cream for the walls. She was fine after that.

I guess being forced to choose between two evils she chose the lesser???

Im just glad it worked

Try having her take a shower with you. Maggie has been taking showers with me since she was 6 mos old. This is how I get clean on most days.

We do have some tub crayons that she looooves and I have to drag her out of the tub she has so much fun with them.
