HELP! 6mo old vomiting

My 6mo old has vomited a few times this evening...around 6 (had formula at 5) and again around 8 (soon after a bottle). I checked his temp a few times and no fever though right after vomiting he had the hots & chills. His energy was ok, a little less than normal, and after the second vomit, he still played a little, but just wanted to be held and then fell asleep in my arms around 9pm.

I checked webmd & this website for info on vomiting without fever and both said to give small amounts of pedialyte. Problem - I don't have any and I can't go get any b/c my toddler is asleep and dh is away.

Should I let him sleep through the night? Or should I wake him to try a small amount of formula so he doesn't get dehydrated?

Thanks!

Do you have a nurse hotline you can call? Keep an eye on his temp, and watch for signs of dehydration (sunken eyes, dry lips), and when you push on his fingernail the color should come right back. The nurse told me a while back that you can re-hydrate kids w/o pedialyte if you do it very slowly. Wait until he's stopped throwing up for an hour, then give him very small amounts of water every 15 minutes.
As long as he's sleeping, seems hydrated, and his temp is down, I'd let him sleep and just keep a close eye on him.
I'll be praying, and let us know how he is in the morning!

In my previous life (before SAHM) I was a nurse. I agree with the other post. Dont push fluid too soon or he will just throw it up again. When starting the fluids keep it to about an ounce at a time at first.
You can always call your doctors office. They will put you through to the on call dr.
