Does anyone else with school aged kids, have a hard time getting into the routine of summer vacation?

We're not out until the 7th and I am looking forward to something different. I, too, thrive on routine, but morning routine can be sooooo hectic and stressful for me. It's going to be nice to not have that deadline every morning. At the beginning of the school year I'm so organized, all 3 kids up and ready to go by 8 am, but as summer approaches I'm having difficulty even just getting Nikki ready! The twins are lucky to be out of their pjs by noon. And it'll be nice to have Nik home to entertain the twis more, too.

Maybe you could try putting up a tent in the backyard, making them some koolaid, and send them OUTSIDE! LOL Give them some water guns and let them play. When I was a kid, we used to throw an old sheet over the swingset and make it our "hide out". We also had an old bag swing on a huge tree we would play on. We would also ride our bikes in the back yard and make our own "roads" that we would follow.
My point is that if the kids are outside, it means they can't trash the inside of the house ;o)
Make it like a picnic where you bring out Koolaid & sandwiches and cut up fruit (watermelon!). They can wash up with the water hose before and after.
have fun and enjoy the summer!
