I need to pack the ice chest with food to eat along the way (it will take us 12-14 hours depending on stops). I don't want anything too messy, and I know we'll get sick of sandwiches. Any ideas?
Quaker has snack rice cakes (Quakes) in a ton of
String cheese, baby carrots, go-gurt (yogurt in the tube!!) mini boxes of cereal (for snacking) granola bars, Capri Sun waters, raisins, cheese cubes, flavored rice cakes, grapes (already washed, taken off the stems and stored in a ziploc bag works wonders!), snack size ANYTHING - like those little Gripz by Nabisco, or teddy grahams, etc. I have to stop, I'm getting hungry!!! LOL!
If I think of more ideas, I'll let you know....
Hugs,
Wendy
I'm packing food for a road trip today also. Only about 3.5 hours for us, but we'll be staying in a trailer which I have NO intention of trying to cook in for a few days. We'll probably eat our meals at fast food, but I am bringing snacks and breakfast. I've got fruit snacks, granola bars, teddy grahams, fruit punch, cheez-its, pretzels, m&ms, bananas, a galon of milk, a 2L of diet pepsi, poptarts and mini doughnuts. I'm also taking the single servings of powdered Koolaid so I can mix some up at the park.

cheese sticks, pepperoni slices, almonds, rice cakes, carrot/celery sticks, gold fish, drinkable yogurt, cereal bars, apples, strawberries, mini banana's, raisons, dates, figs, potted meat sticks, apple sauce cups.....
At this point, this is the closest we've ever been stationed to my parents----it's 13 hrs----and we take every opportunity to drive and see them b/c we'll be moving soon enough and we'll be miles farther away again!
