I need help ladies....
As some of you know, last night we were given a terrible offer on our home, that we immidatly turned down. They offered us $20,000 less than our asking price, and wanted possesion Feb 24... in 18 days. (wonder why we said no???)
Anyways, my realtor just called, and said that thier new offer is $2,000 MORE than our asking price (which was listed high but whatever) BUT they still want possesion Feb 24.
Other dilema, the place we wanted to buy sold over the weekend, and all subjects come off it tomorrow, so it is a done deal. We havent found anything else we want to buy yet.
So, do we say no, and forget the whole thing, or do we accept the offer, and move into a hotel until we find a place, and put our things in storeage?
FIL's house still isnt finished, so we cant stay there either. His house is the biggest one we have access to as my moms and sil's are small and couldnt fit all of us for a few weeks.
Any brilliant suggestions?

thats what's killing me, I cant find any apartments here that rent on a month to month basis...they all make you sign a year lease. I am 100% sure that we will NEVER get another offer of full asking price, because we are listed high.
I'm not sure if they will move on the date, I kind of doubt it, because apparently, they sold thier home and have to be out at the end of Feb.
Pulling my hair out..... i cant get ahold of dh, he's on his way home, but I think his cell battery died.
Wow, that's soon, but great you got an offer!:) $2,000 more than the asking price! The apartments may say you have to sign a lease, but can you talk them into maybe only a few months guaranteed, then month to month after that??Or are their houses you can rent while looking for your permanant residence? I hope you figure something out, let us know!
I feel like puking. lol
dh called the realtor back and said $2,000 less (which is asking) but another 2 weeks, of a closing of March 17.
dyk probably wont go through.
I just said dyk LOL?
FIL said we can move in but have to stay in an unfinished 1 bedroom, with no kitchen or laundry because he's not sure when it will be done.
We looked around tonight and saw 2 beautiful places that are sale by owner, so not on the MLS, and if we like them, that means we have to fire our realtor for the buying portion. I feel terrible about that. She's such a nice lady.
We'll see how it plays out, but i highly doubt they will move on the move date.
awwww totally off topic, Jett just crawled up to me
Lesley, I'd go for it, because what if you don't get another offer like that? Gotta grab the bull by the you-know-whats, right? ;)
Can you find like a hotel-suite combo? You know, here in the States we have Amerisuites, or something like that. I don't know if you have Amerisuites in Canada, but something with bedrooms and a little kitchenette. Those rent month by month, or even week by week or nightly.
I'll bet Tami might have some suggestions. She's moved a lot and stayed only short periods of time. Do you ever email her??
You can come stay with us. . . LOL! I wish!! ;)
Good luck and I'll say a prayer. And YAY that you got a good offer!! And YAY for Jett, what a cutie! :)
Hugs!!
Sofia, we dont have Amerisuites or whatever, but there are many reputable hotel chains that have extended stay one or two bedroom suites for rent, but they are at a minimum of $160.00 per night. Even with my fil's airline discount, its only $116.00 per night. We looked at that as an option. A month of that would kill us..and there goes my new laptop I wanted lol! Plus, the cost of moving our belongings twice and having them in storage...yeesh.
I cant believe dh is even thinking about it!!! He seems suprisingly calm about this...very strange. We havent heard back as of now, so they are either trying to figure out living arrangements for 2 weeks, or are walking away.
I am going to on pins and needles tomorrow (kind of hoping they walk away lol)
OMG Lesley!
Considering the offers that you have (and haven't) been getting, I say jump right in. Sell the place and then make the living arrangements work for a short time. I'd be worried that you won't get another offer like this one. I would also keep checking around to see if anyone will do a month to month lease.
