hey fellow Texan... you beat me by 1%... must be because you live further south LOL. I blame my score not being 100% on my mom... she was born in Indiana ;o)
I've moved around a lot. I lived in Virginia for several years and I loved every minute of it ... but true southerners wouldn't call Northern VA "dixie." It was my favorite place to live and my heart still belongs there. Don't get me started about what a cool state it is. (I know why Lee fought for the south.) I was born in the mid-atlantic and I feel most at home there. My best (yankee) friend from college lives in the south now. I *love* to visit her, both for the company and the place. The first time I was ever called a 'yankee' in a less-than-casual tone was by her brother-in-law, and I was really amused by that. I have a lot of respect for the culture divide. There have been good things about almost every place I have lived and visited. But I would have never guessed that I'd come up only 'half' yankee. Much as I love the south, a true southerner would never confuse me for dixie! :)
I guess I can't blame you then on that 1% decrease. :)
I would like to take this time to thank my late grandmother for forcing me into the southern deportment classes. I can do a full southern curtsy wearing a bell skirt!!!! lol
