I went to the doctor this morning (it was the day for doctor's appointments for us preggies!) and NOTHING is happening down under. I'm still closed tight and not having any timeable contractions or anything. My due date is in two days!
So, if nothing happens for the rest of the week or over the weekend we will be going in to induce on Monday. I guess I have to call the Women's Center at six that morning to make sure everything is a go, and once I get the okay then we go to the hospital at seven and induce. I actually met a nurse that will be there on Monday. She was assisting my doctor, filling in for the regular nurse at my doctor's office, and she is really nice so it would be great to get to work with her since I already know her.
My doc did say that weird things happen around the due date and things could pick up and labor could begin naturally at any time. But the baby will be here within the next five days regardless of how things go.
I just keep getting the feeling that something is happening or is about to start and then I'm disappointed to find out that nothing is. :( Oh well, it's almost over. I guess I should just enjoy this last bit of time and enjoy the kicking and rolling in my tummy, huh? Pretty soon I won't have that and I will probably be sad.

Sorry that you are not having any progression!
Glad to hear your update!
Tarra, what kind of induction are they thinking about doing? I'm sure you know, but certain types (especially if you arent dialted at all...) have a higher chance of mom ending up with a c-sec. Not sure if thats an issue for you or not, but some are better than others kwim?
good luck to you, and I cant wait to hear the birth announcement!
did you ever feel the sac that the baby is in lol? if you didnt last time, this time around, ask to. It sounds gross, but it looks SOOOOO thin, but man, that stuff is tough and can strech lol. When I had Belle, the nurse showed me the placenta and all that and let me poke it, and then she said "feel the sac" I thought she was crazy, but it was really, really cool.
OMGosh Lesley, that IS cool!
That is sooo exciting, Tarra!! :) Congratulations - and good luck! Can't wait to hear all about it and "meet" your new little one!

The doctor told me that if I wasn't dilated by Monday then they give me some sort of tablet into my cervix (I don't remember the name but it starts with an M). Then after a few hours it is supposed to start it dilating and once dilation starts they'll break my water and put me on the pitocin to keep the contractions going.and dilation going.
I don't really know how I would feel about a c-section. DH doesn't want me to have one. He says he wouldn't want to be in the room (yeah, right, I'm sure.) because he says they pull all of your organs out and then shove them back in afterwards. I don't know if that is true or not but that's what he says. LOL
It would be interesting to find out what the drug is that may lead to a c-section, though, then I can ask my doctor about it before we start anything.
Thanks for all of your support, girls. I'm so excited!

Almost here!!! Yeah!! I hope you don't need a c-section, either. Both of mine were natural, although Aryc was induced and I had an epidural. With Nate, it was totally natural (but they broke my water in the hospital) and they just gave me some pitocin, although it did nothing. From all the Baby Story's I've seen, they don't pull out all your organs, just sometimes the uterus. From the shows I've seen, they often don't even need to pull that out. Your dh would have to stay by your head, anyway, so it probably wouldn't be as bad for him as he thinks, either. (Disclaimer: I'm not a doc or a nurse, so this is totally mho and what I've seen on Discovery Health and TLC. Your actual experience may vary. Delivery times not guaranteed. For your money back, please see your insurance company.) hehe :P
I'll be sending lots of p&pts for you and baby! :) G/L!!
