Home prices in your area?

Hey ladies! Just hoping to get a sample of home prices from around the country. Hubby and I are just beginning to think about relocating. It's not that we really *want* to leave, but it is just SO expensive to live here (San Diego).
It would be great if you could reply with the approx. home price of the average 3 bedroom/2 bath home in your area. Also, if you have time to include what you like/dislike about your area, that would be terrific!
Thanks! emi :)

There are alot of great communities in my area.
There is a master planed community called The Woodlands Texas. Average home price can be anywhere from 80,000 on up to 1 million dollar homes. The average annual income is around 70,000 and up. I has Great hike and bike trails that go on forever and top rated schools. Most every development has there own grocery store, it is very beautiful there with great work going into preserving the forest. A really large master planned community with Malls, they are in the process of building a river walk similiar to San Antonio.
Across the Hiway is the small town of Oak Ridge North, where my family is moving to. The average cost of housing is greatly varied from as low as 50,000 dollar homes up to 300,000 dollar homes. The crime rate here is extremely low and the police department here really take there job seriously!
The next town over is Conroe With The beautiful Lake Conroe homes that vary in prices similiar to above.
I actually know quite a few people who have moved here from California, they are always just shocked at what you can get for your money here. Most homes 70,000 and up are in the average of 3 to 4 bedrooms with family rooms and gamerooms.
Well you probably got more info than you wanted..lol
Oh I can't forget to mention the friendliness of my community. It is a custom to wave to people you see driving down most roads, my out of town relatives really get a kick out of it!
Good luck, I hope you find what your looking for.

Oh you have to check this site. It lets you compare another city to your city in every area from house prices to crime to # of starbucks. It also links to lots of good information on schools. When we were thinking of relocating, I found it to be helpful.

Good luck! I have heard San Diego is expensive. DH is in the Navy & we'd love to transfer to SD but it is too expensive. I'm sure I'd be forced to get a job! :(

And I forgot to tell you what I like about our area. Well first of all, the beach is literally 5 or so minutes away. We've got the Texas State Aquarium, The Lexington museum which is an old wartime aircraft carrier. And everything else is within a few hours drive from here. There's Houston, Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, etc. There's always something to do. We have lots of small towns here that are great! And we love the diverse cultures!
The only thing I don't really like is the malls honestly! We only have 2 small ones here. But hey we go to San Antonio 'cause there are a ton there! lol
