I thought this might be a fun thing to talk about.

We always knew Ian would be Ian. DH is Brian, and Ian is a part of that name. Lucy was hard to come up with. Her name is a combination of DH's paternal grandmother's first and middle names. The poor kid didn't have an official name until she was two hours old.

Alex was pretty easy, we both just liked it. Nathan I told DH if we have a second boy we are calling him Nathan, no discussion. #3 was hard, we were told 75% chance it was a boy so that was tough. DH had the final say since I picked Nathan so we had it narrowed down to Zach or Luke and he picked Luke. I preferred Zach at the time but I have grown to like Luke, but I wished we had just used Luke instead of Lucas as his full name. JT... we were pretty burned out on boy names. I was hung up on J names but I wanted Justin or Jackson or even Shane or Shawn... not how it worked out and so we don't call him by hist first name. I don't like his first name and I have no idea how that will work once he gets to school.

My 7 month old is Brynlei. She was going to be Harlow the entire pregnancy, bought letters for the wall, had a "Welcome Harlow!" baby shower cake, it was set.

We kept a list of boy and girl names that we liked from when we started trying to get pregnant. When we found out it was a boy, we went through our boy list and settled on two James that sounded good together-Taylor James. After he was born I found out about the singer, James Taylor. No wonder old ladies looked at me funny when I told them what his name would be! Oh well. After he was born I did have some uncertainty and contemplated calling him James but Taylor has grown on me.
