How do I get this out of the carpet...

This morning, my dd crept into my room while I was sleeping, and went through my suitcase that I still havent unpacked, and took out a full container of hand lotion. She proceeded to open it, and slather her entire head with it. Needless to say, her hair is super soft now, but it's all over the carpet...the new white carpet. Dh is going to freak when he gets home !!!

I wipped up as much as I could, and have used soap and water, I will try using a carpet cleaner, but what about the greasiness? How do I get that out? I am afraid its going to turn into a big black spot. Any great ideas?

I am not positive but maybe baking soda? I would let it sit overnight and maybe it will soak it all up...just a thought.

or...lol I just remembered. Doesn't Dawn "get the grease". Maybe a clear dawn would be able to take the grease out...just a guess though.

Lesley, Maybe try a product called Grease Lightning. Do you know if they sell this where your at? It works on just about everything around the house. Took blood out of our carpet and we use it on our clothing, it has taken grease stains out of our clothes. Just a thought.

Olivia

P.S. Are you sure it wasn't vegetable oil?.....lol

Try a product called Spot Shot. I get it at Wal Mart - so far, it has taken out everything. My friend uses it all the time. She even got out the HUGE smiley face her dd drew in CRAYON on her white carpeting! (sweet girl, huh?) Give it a try if nothing else works. I have brand new carpeting (our house is not even a year old yet) and it is white in the main hallway (what was I thinking?) and it has worked every time!

Good luck
