and counting....

He will be home tomorrow around midnight. I know that's not a LONG business trip so to speak, especially compared to those strong military wives whose husbands are gone for months at a time, but....

We're newlyweds sortof (married 21 months on the 14th) and it's the longest we've been apart. Plus I'm living in the sticks with my mother in law so there's not much else to think about other than the fact he's not here and/or how much I'd like to murder my mother in law....

I'm reading like crazy (already been through two books since he left) and spending a lot of time on the internet, but I still feel kind of lonely. He's always worked LONG days, so I should be adjusting but it's just hard to get to sleep alone at night.

How do you guys cope when your dh's go away?

LOL!!!!

I usually lie back and enjoy having the middle of the bed!!!

Don't worry, he'll be home soon, enjoy the quiet, and having control of the remote while you can!!!

Not to much longer to go. Even a couple of days

Hi Heather! I am a military wife & quite accustomed to my DH being gone for weeks or months on end. What I have always done is try to do fun things with my kids to also keep them occupied & not thinking about Daddy being gone. And I would spend a lot of time doing a hobby. I scrapbook which also is great for DH when he is gone for any amount of time because it gives him a chance to see what all he misses. I hate that he has had to miss anything in our children's lives. He missed all of my pregnancy with DD & all but the last 2 months of DS's since he was deployed both times. He has never been home of DS's birthday who will be 5 next month. And has been gone 5 of our last 6 wedding anniversaries. Anyway sorry, got off topic there! LOL Anything you could do to keep busy would be a plus. Can you join some local playgroups or Mom's groups that would benefit you & your child(ren)? And if there aren't any, why not start one?

Good luck & I'm sorry to hear he is gone right now.
