How did you meet your husband? How long were you dating/seeing one another before you got married? How did you know he was the one for you?

Thanks for sharing and can't wait to hear from all of you.

Ohhh, I like this question. It helps me not have thoughts of wringing his neck when I remember good things. Dh was attending Mississippi State University in Starkville. I was attending MSU in a town about 1 1/2 hours away. We were taking an ornithology class (bird watching) as a biology. We had the same professor who commuted to Meridian (campus where I was attending) on Tuesday nights to teach our class. We had to go on these field trips at like 7:00 on Saturday mornings to watch and identify birds. We had go on a certain number to fulfill course requirements but DH and I had waited until the last min. to go so we had only 1 left that we could attend. I was irritated to be there that early on a SAt. but it was worth it when I saw that cutie get out of the MSU van with our professor. We made eyecontact several times throughout the morning. We were all supposed to be looking at a nest of bald eagles which I couldn't find (this wasn't really my thing) so DH came up and showed me where they were. We spoke for about 5 min. A week later he called to ask me out. He got my number from our professor. He had my engagement ring a month later but waited until we had known each other 4 months to propose, which was my birthday. We were engaged for a year and a half before marrying, partially because we were both in college, partially because I just HAD to have a Christmas wedding, and partially becuase 4 months isn't long enough to know someone when you are 20 and 22 years old. We have been married 10 years. Years after we married we were still hearing about how the professor was using our story to entice students to show up for field trips. He sent us a bird house as a gift.

I met my DH at my old job. I worked at a title/escrow company. He bought a house (already a plus) and came in to sign his loan documents. The next day he came back to bring in his closing funds and noticed the pic of my older ds on my desk and asked about him...of course I light up with pride for my baby (then 2 now 7 I had left his father a year prior) the third day (Dec 4th) he came in and I asked what he needed and he asked if I was single and if he could have my#. Can't explaine it or why but I felt super gushy all over and gave him my real number. All other guys got some fake # just so I didn't have to reject them to their face cuz I had sworn off men. He turned around to walk out and had on Wranglers with the cutest butt and I was hooked from that moment on.....3 years later he proposed on a snowy moutain top in Montana (parents retired there) Married in October 05' and were living happily ever after (pending the day, hehehe!) with our newest addition Max now 3 months old...

thanks for letting me share!

Wendy,

ok what's really weird was before I knew there were 2 eggs in my basket so to speak, I had already decided on a girl name.....Katherine Elizabeth, Katie for short. When I found out I was having twins DH and I split the name and DH chose Katie's middle name Katherine Meagan and I chose Elizabeth Rileigh! I just love the traditionalism of them.

I met my husband for the first time when I was taking guitar lessons at the local music store. He wasn't my teacher (DH swears the owner always took the "pretty girls" for his own students). Later on (maybe 6 months later), I was trying to put a little band together and asked DH to play lead guitar. This was in January. We spent a lot of time hanging out together working on music. I was getting impatient waiting for him to ask me out so after he left my house after a practice session, I called him up at the music store (he hung out there a good bit) and asked him if he wanted to go to the mall or something (gimme a break, I was only 17, he was 23) the next day. So our first date was a walk around the mall, dinner out at Boston Market, and we saw the Wedding Singer. All of this on Friday the 13th! ha ha
After that, we were pretty much couldn't be separated.
We dated for about 6 months and then moved in together (a whole other story-I had to get out & away from my family). We held off on getting married until I finished school (homeschooled my senior year while working 2 jobs).
We were married on July 4, 1999. And here we are 8 years later with our 2nd bean on the way.
How did I know he was the one for me? He put up with me--not always the easiest thing to do. I'm sure everyone feels this way about their SO, but I truly feel I am the luckiest woman alive and feel blessed everyday that I get to share my life with this wonderful man!

I met my dh through a co-worker friend. He called her to see if she wanted to go out with some friends - so we went - we talked, had a great time. We even talked on the phone until I went to England for 2 weeks. I called when I got home and during the converation he had to go and said he would call me the next day - that day turned into weeks (unfortunaly our mutual friend was now in Germany for 3 weeks) so I just gave up and moved on - 6 weeks later I get the longest - 4 mins - most pathetic message from him. THe phone in his apartment dies (wires located in someone elses closet got crossed - odd), he knew where I worked and lived but did not remember my last name so he could not look it up. Finally he got a hold of our friend and thought he would try - well the message was so pathetic that I figured it was worth at least one date. Well, after that first date my frist thought was "Well, we can be just friends!" but he said he would call the next day and he did so he got a second - and that was the date I knew this was something - that was the beginning of September 1999 - he proposed Septemeber of 2000 and we were married September 15th 2001 and have not been happier!!!!

It was so cliche but November of 1999 I was driving home from work and I had a thought - "I am going to marry this man." and that was all I needed to know - I was kinda disappointed he did not propose on Valentines day, but I am glad he waited - it was much better that way.
