Do 65% of people really beleive that the police putting the 5 year old in hand cuffs is "doing the right thing"? I saw this on Good Morning America. I just don't understand this and it makes me so sad.

What excatly did this 5 year old do? I don't think that is something that needs to be done unless..... If he murdered someone then I think yes, or would harm someone or himself.

I think it handcuffing this child was not the right thing to do but she did need to be restrained.

I think it stinks that it had to be done, but I don't know that it was the right or wrong thing to do. The school had done all it could to restrain this child. They aren't allowed to touch kids! She was in a fit of rage for quite a while and was a danger to herself and her schoolmates. Not to mention she tore apart her classroom and the principal's office. The other kids had to leave their classroom, which I'm sure disrupted their learning for the day and freaked them out. They are only Kindergarteners! And the mom didn't come right away. I think they just ran out of options and needed help.

I didn't have time to come back here yesterday. I think It is so sad that teachers can't restrain a 5 year old girl. It is just another thing they are taking away from teachers to be able to discipline their children. When I taught pre-k I had a little boy who was autistic and someone did something that really freaked him out. I emediately grabbed him from behind and sat in my chair while keeping one leg over his legs and I kept his hands by his sides.

I really think things could have gotten out of control with this child and he might have done something similiar. I just don't know what they want from teachers. I guess they need to keep camera's in every room now and train teachers in pmab-a technique that helps to restrain people while not hurting them. I just can't beleive the adults let it get so far.
