I have been a stay ta home mom for 6 years now I have a 6 year old and a 15 month old. I feel like I am in the movie Groundhog day, every day is pretty much the same thing. I am depressed my husband works 12 hour days 6 days a week so I can stay at home. ( there are no breaks for me on Sunday its his break.) My 6 year old is going through a wear me down argue me to death stage, my 15 month old is killing my back and I am overwieght by about 50 pounds and no outlet to loose! I am so bored, I am forever busy there is never anytime for me, however if something new happend that would be so exciting I think i might explode. I am in PTA ( boring) all moms work no one has time to talk. What do you guys do to keep yourselves sane? First time first post one this site obviously!

Hi Amy,

I have also been a SAHM for about 5 years now. I have a 12 yo boy, 5 & 4 yo girls and one on the way. The 2 biiger ones are in school full time and my 4 yo goes 3 days a week. I started my own business with Home Interiors to keep my sanity. It gives me the best of both worlds. I can be there for my kids and all their activities and work when I need adult conversation.

I started this business over 3 years ago when my husband was called to active duty as a result of 9/11. We lost over 65% of his salary and I needed to help support our family. I stuck with it because I love the merchandise as well as meeting all kinds of new people. The support from fellow consultants has kept me going thru all the hard times. If you want some information on this let me know (patrinaroberts@cox.net). I know how long the days can be!!! Good luck.

I feel the same way but have only been home for 3 years with a 3 year old and 7 mos old. I've been just planting flowers in my beds for a couple of years but have just discovered all the fun veggies you can grow. I love getting out, watching the plants grow, take care of them and have the veggies when you have taken care of them well. Faster reward time than with kids. I'm also hoping that as my boys get older, it will help them to like veggies and maybe even gardening. Now that it is getting colder, I am having a problem, but this summer it was a godsend to go outside and look at all my plants and see their progress. But I have also wanted to start growing interesting plants inside, like a coffee plant, cotton plant, maybe some dwarf fruit. With the gardening you can also grow herbs for cooking and for tea and health if you are into that sort of thing. Just an idea. I hope you get some great ideas to help you out.

Hi Memelhic,

I noticed your post about joining a community playgroup, or something along those lines.
