I am so upset about everything that is being said about Christmas. On my other board everyone is talking about what is going on in their towns about this. Apparently they don't want people saying "Merry Christmas" anymore. You have to say "Happy Holidays", since not everyone celebrates Christmas or since some people do not believe in Christ. One board member said her neighbor is being told she has to remove her nativity scene from her front yard. Isn't that awful! Most of the members are banning Target and now Wal-Mart. Target can only have "Happy Holidays" on their signs and Wal-Mart employees can only say "Happy Holidays" to you when they answer their phone. And where ever Christmas Trees are sold the sign has to read Holiday Trees. Come on people, Jesus is the reason PERIOD!! Sorry ladies, just had to let out my frustration on this:(

I understand how you feel Olivia. I do however have to play advocate for the people who are not Christians. I do beleive unless a store is known to be Christian run (like Chil fil a) for instance then the stores should say Happy Holidays on signs.
I do not see how it could be wrong for a clerk to say Merry Christmas though if that is the Holiday they celebrate. That is their religion and something they should be allowed to say. There are though quite a lot of holidays that are celebrated in December. The Jewish and Muslim religions come to mind.
I do think it is ridiculous that they do not put Christmas trees though because that is what it is. I don't think any other religion puts up a Christmas tree so why not call it what it is? As for the neighbor who took down their nativity scene...well I sure as heck would not have. That is my personal property and If I want to display a flag of my faith or anything else that distiguishes my family then that is what I will do!
Just my opinion.
