Fish release pond at the Magic House. It wasn't in there very longer but now the buttons on the phone are not working right. Because I didn't buy the insurance when I bought the phone, I now have to spend another $250 - 300 on another phone. My friend told me to put the phone in the toaster oven on the low setting for a few minutes. She saw that on CSI and it worked on her brother's phone. Has anyone else done this? I have the Razor camera phone...I really, really don't want to buy another phone!

O no! Im not soo sure about the toaster over thing, lol, but it can't hurt to try :)One time I washed my dh's phone in the washing machine, but luckily it worked after! I would recomend getting the insurance, it's usually like $5/month and they give you a free phone it something happens to yours....goodluck!:)

Shannon,

Belle has dropped dhs cell in water a few times. The last time was the toilet, so it was definatly time for a new phone after that lol. But, what we did the previous times was to open the phone so the chip board on the inside is exposed...basically crack the thing completly open. Lay the two sides out on a baking sheet, heat your oven to the lowest setting and bake the sucker for a while until everything is dry. I dont know exactly how long, but i'd say we had it in for 15-20 minutes. We put the phone back together, and it worked great. I think you have to do as soon as possible as well. let us know if it worked for you!

My DH left his in the rain once and it stopped working. I only recommend the insurance if you have an expensive phone. DH paid insurance on his phone for two years and when it broke, he had to pay a $50 deductible (he had been paying $4 a month for 2 years already) and they didn't have his phone anymore so they considered it an upgrade and he would have to pay more money because it was a nicer phone he was getting. He told them to shove it and we switched to Verizon and got two camera phones free. :)

I baked my phone for about 16 minutes and the screen looks good. The 7,8,9 & Camera buttons are not working. I am hoping if I just wait it out the keys will eventually work. I am either going to have to buy a new phone or sign another contract while keeping the one I have if that phone does work right. I use my phone for work and I need new business cards so it might be time to get the new phone.

hey Shannon, Kyle used to be a phone tech...

if this ever happens again, do *not* turn the phone back on! If it doesn't power itself off, immediately turn it off. Take the battery out and pour rubbing alcohol all over it (drench it) and leave it off for a couple of days so it can completely dry out.

He and I both have done this, and our phones still work perfectly.

Dang it!! That's not cool.

I dropped mine into the washing machine and didn't realize it for about 5 minutes...so it spent some time in there. I put it under a light open and off (plus take out the memory card if your phone has that). I didn't turn it on for several days. It was really inconvenient because that is my only phone. I also put it in the oven at 200 degrees (turning the oven off and on so it wouldn't get too hot). Basically i just tried to be careful about how hot it got but kept it warm for several days. When I did turn it back on the screen was half black and blotchy. It did eventually clear up and works ok.

Good luck.
