I AM BACK IN CONTROL!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well, most of you probably remember my post a while back saying that I lost control of everything since I had Meggan.
Well, guess what??? MOM IS BACK!!!

Let me fill you in--
I pay my 2 oldest 25.00 a week to do their chores. Even if they dont do them all, or if they arent done right I still give them 25.00 a week. My 2 younger ones get 20.00 a week.
I know, stupid on my part!!

Well, I sat here and thought, why am I paying my kids when they dont do what I tell them to do. So I fired everyone of them.
I told them that they are responsible for themselves only!! I did not want any help from them, and I will not ask for any help since it is such a big deal for them. I told them they are responsibe for their on plates, cups, etc. If they arent clean they dont eat. (Now we know that I would never not let them eat, BUT, they dont know that). They have to keep up with their cups and use the same one all day long. My kids are horrible about getting a new cup everytime they need a drink. I do laundry once a week and if their clothes are not in the laundry room, then they dont have clean clothes. and I do NOT want them touching my washer and dryer. I even brought out the garbage which is something that I never do!!

OH MY GOD!! Why didnt I think of this a LONG time ago! I guess reverse physcology really does work. My kids have been helping me more now than when I paid them to do chores. They clean up after themselves and help me with Meggan without me even asking.
Maybe they are feeling sorry for mom, who knows, and frankly I dont care.

I told them that TV is down to 1 hour a day, They must read any book of choice for 1 hour a day. They have been doing it all.

I told them that I might reconsider paying then allowances again, but for now, they have lost their first job. I want them to get a good taste of what it feels like to not get paid every payday. Maybe they will want to help out more forever!!

Thought Id share...
Thanks for all of your support

WOO HOO!! Looks like mom is back in town!! Good for you. I think showing them you're serious was a great idea. I think it'll show them some responsibility and appreciation.

YOU KICK BUTT!!!

Cyndi, you crack me up! Way to crack that mommy whip. Glad it worked for you.

I make my kids clean their room. Rinse off their dishes and do a 5 minute clean up on the living room everyday at 2:30. If my seven year old wants extra money he has to apply for any extra jobs I have listed on a board. He has to convince me he can and will do the job, and signs a contract! lol

so far so good.

We are so glad you are back!

It is working so far. I love it... They seem lost, and it is kinda funny. They are asking me what they can do to help.

I think I will make a list of extra jobs and have them apply for them. That is a really good idea...

Thanks for all of your support

I had to lol when I read that! For some reason it reminds me of that cell phone commercial where the parents are inside nice and cozy. The mom says something about them working so hard to shovel the driveway when they have a free family cell phone plan. The dad tells the wife he hasn't told them.

I love that commercial! lol

LOL, believe it or not, that is where I got the idea. I love the apprentice. I watch it every week.

Im so glad to have all of your ladies support. It reinforces that I am doing the right thing.

Last night it was so funny, I started washing the dishes in the kitchen and my oldest comes in and takes me by the hand and says "Mom, I got it, you go sit and rest"
My second oldest, doesnt seem to care about any of it. I guess it will hit him when my oldest gets his job back and gets his allowance back.
