Ugh, DH's brothers think we are a lending institution.

Good for you!! That's hard that Dh doesn't see a problem with that. I hope that you putting your foot down will make them realize that you aren't their emergency fund!

LOL, we can't be the emergency fund... heat pump went out yesterday and that on top of the well we have to put in at the old house... well there is no emergency fund.

This is his older brother who is always wanting to borrow money? Ugh... Even if it was a younger sibling, I'd still be annoyed. Good for you for speaking up. I hope your husband figures out that giving his brother money isn't actually helping him learn anything.

Exactly! The 1200 is from when he was going through a messy divorce and she left him stuck with all the bills but now that it is over he still is completely irrisponsible with his money, I have no desire to "help" someone who isn't even trying.

My dad does the same thing with my younger brother. It's so frustrating because I know my dad doesn't have much, and my brother already owes him thousands that he has no intention of repaying. Plus, my brother and his wife hijacked my dad's debit card the last time they were in town and went on a few shopping sprees. I can't believe my dad is letting them (along with their 2 kids) live with him in his 2 bedroom apartment until they can figure out how to be adults.
